Ice Station Cool

It was still there in March, and it is in my 2004 Birnbaums book. I enjoyed tasting all the different drinks, although some of them were utterly horrible. My kids like it too.

That's good news. I would hate for it to be gone .. but I do know that Disney is cutting costs .. and eliminating free soda samples would be a way to save (sadly enough).

I was there in May and it is still going strong. They've added a snow section now where it "snows" on you as you walk through. Quite chilly, but very refreshing when you want to exit the FL heat.

All the times I've been to WDW and I've never gone there, where is it located exactly?

trust me - I don't think people go there to quench their thirst! heheh

It is located by the big fountain right past innoventions. It will be on your right hand side. Look for a snow terrain looking vehicle. Very hard to find if you don't know where to look.

Here's a recent listing of some of the beverages that are available:

PS. I always stand back and take a look at people's faces when they try "Beverly" for the first time...heh heh heh

China
Smart Watermelon
The Chinese name for watermelon, hsi-kua (pronounced she-gua) means melon from the west, which introduced it to China nearly 1200 years ago. Today, the Chinese produce 40% of the world's watermelon crop and consume millions of watermelons each summer.

Israel
Kinley Lemon
Invading Mongrols were probably the first to introduce lemonade to the Middle East. Historical records from the 12th century reveal that a drink made of lemons, water and honey was popular among Genghis Khan's thirsty warriors.

Japan
Vegitabeta
The Japanese have long recognized the importance of beverages for both nutrition and health benefits. In modern Japan, this interest in healthy consumption finds its ultimate expression in "Health" vending machines that dispense vitamin drinks like Vegitabeta.

Germany
Mezzo Mix
The best known German beverage is beer. Germans often mix their beer with other beverages to weaken the alcohol content and enhance the flavor. Mixing flavors has also become popular in nonalcoholic beverages like Mezzo Mix.

Italy
Beverly
Drinking an aperitif before dinner to stimulate the appetite is a traditional part of Italian refreshment culture. Beverly, with its bitter flavor, is a popular non-alcoholic aperitif.

Mozambique
Krest Ginger Ale
Ginger has long been used as a medicinal herb throughout Africa, so it is not surprising that Ginger Ale is a popular drink in Mozambique. It is also popular in shebeens, informal bars, where it is used as a mixer.

My DW loves Smart Watermelon.

ITA about Beverly -- :crazy2: But it is hilarious to watch others try it for the first time. Funny thing is ... I've never seen anyone go back for seconds of it! :hyper:

Makes me wonder if Epcot has ever had to replace the original canister of Beverly????

For as many times as I've been to Epcot, I have always bypassed Ice Station Cool for some reason, even though I knew was it was. Just for fun, I'm going to do a little sampling this time! Hehehe!;)

Duh...

first "was" should be "what"

Typos really annoy me, btw...

I don't think you need to worry about this being a budget cutback.
A certain soft drink company subsidizes this "attraction";) I enjoy it each time we are there, and each time I would kill for a Coke when we leave;)

*sprinkles pixi dust*... that was one of the rudest things I have ever seen... very non-dis.. be a bit more conciderate in the future, it was a simple typing error. I am sure you have made them in your life. Rude people annoy me, btw.

I, too, was shocked that someone could be that rude to a fellow DISer, until I realized that she was correcting herself ;).

I thought the same thing about rudeness, etc. So I took a second look. The poster Eyeore girl was talking about the typos in her OWN post. Back to happy thoughts :bounce:
