Just read about this on allearsnet.com and it is closed for 6 months for rehab and will re-open and re-named "Club Cool".....ugh, I hate that, I am going in October.....
We saw it for the first time in March and were a little dissapointed. Half the dispensers weren't working, and it looked a little dingy. I'm sad they're changing the name, and am worried that they will make drastic aesthetic changes. I think the concept is cute, it just needed a little clean up.
I am a little surprised that WDW decided to renovate an exhibit that is called "Ice Station COOL" at the beginning of the sweltering summer tourist season, but hey, nobody called me, right?
Glad to see though that it will be reopening. Although somewhat small and not a big draw for me both my dd-11 and ds-7 talk about this place every so often. My family will be going with my mom and my inlaws (my inlaws have never been) next 10/06 and my dd/ds have already told me they cant wait to bring grandma & grandpa and have them taste the great Beverly. They cant wait to trick them LOL

My Gosh!!! Why does everyone seem to think that just because Disney closes something for rehab that they will make all kinds of changes and it will come back not as good as it was in the first place. What have they ever done to make us think that way.....Come on just look at the amazing job they did with getting rid of that tired old alien yawner and bringing in the exciting edge of your seat Stitch's Great Escape!!!!
I went to Epcot on Saturday all set to have a few cups of the watermelon soda which I really like and what a disappointment to see that Ice Station Cool was closed!!! I had not heard that it was down for rehab.
I think Disney chose to do the rehab now due to the sweltering heat of summer. Since ice station cool is closed people will now buy a $2 water or soda. It's more change in Disney's pocket.
We were there on Sunday and I ended up buying 2 more drinks than I normally would have. Normally I would have stopped twice at icestation cool.
I hope Ice Station Cool is going to be open when my family goes in late Jan./early Feb! I was surprised that they closed it for rehab for 6 months! My family loves to go in there to stay cool and get free samples of sodas around the world. My favorite is either the VegiBite or the Watermelon.
