When we were disembarking a porter said that the Dream had an ice skating rink. I've never heard of this , I thought maybe he was talking about the Carnival Dream. Disney on Ice would be nice at sea though;)

I don't think there will be an ice rink on the Dream but there are a few surprises not revealed yet according to Disney....it would be cool but looking at the deck plans there does not seem to be a place for an ice rink....but who knows what Disney has up their sleeves for future surprises on the Dream!!!

Just my personal 2 cents but I wouldn't want an ice rink on my cruise ship. I'm Canadian and seriously, I'm looking for a vacation from home. :) Besides, it would be cold and bringnig ice skates would be crazy.

RCI provides the skates and helmets. You just need to have long pants and socks. It wasn't cold...and the ice show was absolutely amazing!!

I would love to have an ice skating rink!! It is so much hassle to get to the place, park the car (it usually is at the most expensive lot in the area), wait n the line, renting gear, gear up, an hour of fun, gear off, returning gear, get back home. It would be nice if it is RIGHT THERE.

I miss my life in Canada... (30+ years ago, that is)

I read your post to my mom, who "fled" Canadian weather in 1948.
She laughed and mentioned she is overdue for a trip to Hawaii!
(she did hang onto her ice skates for another 20 years. And yes, all my Aunts and Uncles Curl. Which is why I laughed at all the young people Curling at the Olympics, to me, Curling was always an OLD person's sport)

I totally understand wanting to escape Canada but I think it would be cool to ice skate on a cruise :)

I agree. The ice show was spectacular.

We've been on three RCI cruises with ice rinks, and going ice skating at sea was a real highlight. RCI also provides free group lessons.

And for those of us from the south who RARELY get the chance/opportunity to go ice-skating, it sounds like a fun option for a vacation activity!!

i've never been on any of the disney cruise ships before but i was wondering if there was anything that made the new disney dream special and different from the other ships
