Ice?? Hotel New York

We are staying at Hotel New York in a couple of weeks time and queried whether the mini bar in the room could be used as a fridge. The hotel say it will be too warm and recommend we bring a cool box or cool bag.

Obviously without a freezer the blue blocks you put in a cool bag/box won't be frozen so won't work.

As there is a mini bar selling spirits and mixers and also an ice bucket, does anyone know if there are also ice dispensing machines in the corridors like there are in hotles in the US?

There was at S Lodge so I assume there will be at NY

They have ice machines but if they are not working, which they didn't in the HNY & SL the last time we stayed just take your bucket to the bar & they will fill it not problem

Think they are not always on every floor but you should find one on at least one of the floors - usually close to the inner stairwells.
