hello, hope I'm putting this in the right place. We're making a quick trip this go around, just Epcot and some shopping at Downtown Disney for us, was hoping someone could tell me the best place to get ice cream for the kids. Hoping for somewhere with plenty of choices for flavors. Would love a Dole Whip, but not going to MK so I guess that is out of the question unless there is another place to get one that I'm not aware of??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!:)
Thanks!

Best ice cream options for our family...At downtown Disney...The Ghirardelli ice cream shop....all sorts of ice cream flavors and toppings...A must on our list for every trip.

awesome,thanks!:thumbsup2
seems like I remember seeing it,but we always beeline for Goofy's Candy Store for the chocolate covered marshmellows and big Oreo cookies!!;)
I will definately be checking it out, have always wanted to get some good ice cream while we were there.

yeah, you will not be sorry, all very good "rich" ice cream flavors, with plenty of flavors and enough topping choices to make your teeth hurt.

omg, I just found the menu on here, the Espresso Escape sounds heavenly, you give me coffee and chocolate together and YUMMY!!!!
I see all toppings that the kids and DH can pick from, sounds like our kind of place!
Thanks again!!:thumbsup2

I have never been to Ghiradelli at WDW, but the one in Vegas was so great!

Another option right outside of Epcot ( WS) is Beaches and Cream at the BC Resort.

I was just going to tell you I have an old menu in a scrap book, I mus say I am getting hungry just looking at it....It is nice there, there are 2 different sides of the shop, you can go on the right side and just get coffee drinks and the other side is the ice cream shop.

You know out of all the times I have been to Disney, I have never been to Ghiradelli. I think Tim and I have to go this trip.

OP, I know you were looking for a place with a lot of flavors, but if you ever want good chocolate soft serve ice cream, get it from the little cart in France at Epcot. It is very good.

SOOOO right about the France cart..... another good option is
"Beaches and Cream"...it is a sit down restaurant (at the Beachclub) Like a burger joint...you can go to the restaurant side or just to the counter and order...but some real good ice cream choices....just go hungry if you think you can eat the "Kitchen Sink" (yes that is a real name for a HUGE ice cream treat there)

Another great option would be Beaches and Cream which is in the BC Resort, and since you will be at Epcot anyways, it is a nice little walk from IG to get there. They have a take out counter or you can sit at one of their booths (if you are able to get in) or at the counter where we like to sit (easier to sit at). They have different flavors, however not sure how many, but they do have the best Peanut Butter and chocolate sundae known as the No Way Jose Sundae. Also, if you really want a Dole Whip and wouldn't mind stopping at the Poly, they serve them there at Captain's Cooks which is their CS. I also do recommend Ghiredlli's Ice Cream Shop. We love both ice cream shops and will go to either one that is closest to where we are at at that time. Have a great trip.

I would suggest B&C as well. You can look at menus for both places at http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm and figure out which would work better.

Thanks everyone!!
Hey at the Beaches and Cream is that the Kitchen sink that Man vs. Food tried to eat??
By chance does anyone have photos? Probably will make me want some more, but sometimes pics help with decisions!;)

i would put on a pic or two, but it seems like I do not have access for that or I am just doing something wrong
