Ice Cream Social Aftermath: What to do now?

The ice cream social was my favorite character meal. I have since been told that Disney no longer does this character social. Did they replace it with something else. I want to have a light "meal" with characters but nothing big or pricey. My family and I do not like eating big (full) meals while in theme parks. Meals slow us down. We normally eat "snack" meals (fast food types). Sandwiches, turkey legs and stuff like that. Are there any character meals like that now? I have now convinced my family that we can't go all the way to Orlando and not visit Disney (We were supposed to have a non-disney - all Universal vacation) - I've begged them to at least spend 2 days in Disney. We be in Orlando July 29 - August 05,2006 - thanks in advance for your help!! Or do they sell this ice cream somewhere in the parks - this was the ice cream we received at the social.

say it isnt so. This was the "best kept secret" in all of WDW.

To think of the last time we did this, we had the GG all to ourselves.
We had the characters all to ourselves.
My 1 1/2 year old was spoon fed ice cream by Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto. He was passed around on their laps like they could not get enough of my little boy. He loved them so much.

I know we are gutted too, this was such fun and a different way to eat and meet the characters. What a shame, wish they would bring this back, perhaps even in AK or another park.



PLEASE Disney, bring this back !!!

We dont alway want a meal..... ice cream is a great subsituite!

I'm so bummed because I wanted to try this too! Heard it was good and not crowded-but then lack of crowds is probably why they cancelled it too!

Too bad.
I didn't even ask for it this trip I tried to get it for the past 3 years and it was never avaialble for our dates.
I'm so suprised to hear that it wasn't popular. Just our luck I guess.

I know its not the same and there are no characters, but this time we are going to eat at Kona and the kids are going to have the kiddie kone. It seems like a good alternative!
