Ice Cream at Epcot

Is it better to do France's L'Artisan des Glaces, or go "out" to Beaches and Cream? I've wanted to try both on previous trips but never got around to it. Determined to at least hit one but doubt I'll get to both this trip.

B&C is cute, but it's very garden-variety stuff. The stuff in France is divine. I used the mango to buy off my younger child's impending meltdown on an 85 degree day during F&W. A++++ would do again.

The only "great" thing about B&C is the overwhelming size of the sundaes. We can't even do the kitchen sink for the fun of it because DD has a dairy allergy. It was fun once, but I'd rather eat the good stuff in France.

I would always opt for homemade ice cream over store bought. Just experienced L'Artisan des Glaces, Ample Hills at Boardwalk (opens in the later afternoon) and Vivoli Gelato at DS and all were soooo good and worth each trip!

I agree with the PP's. If you want to stay in EP, go to L'Artisan des Glaces. Vivoli Gelato is good, too, I just like to sit at the little tables in France and eat! There's really no place nice to sit near Vivoli.

If you want to leave the park, Ample Hills is SO GOOD! And they have sundaes (gigantic sundaes)!

B&C doesn't compare to any of these choices.

Ample Hills at the Boardwalk is where it's at! At Epcot, you can take the boat to and from the Boardwalk. I think it's worth leaving, but just know that the sundae portions are HUGE. My DH and I couldn't finish one together (granted, we had just eaten lunch at Epcot, but still!). The ice cream is of very high quality, and if you visit at an off time, they will let you sample tons of flavors. The Butter Cake ice cream was amazing.

L'Artisan, hands down. It's a must do for us.

We went to Ample Hills in July.... I don't get the hype. Maybe we just got the wrong thing but it was pretty generic to me.

I don't care for the selection of flavors at Artisan...Ample Hills is the way to go!

i was l'artisan de glaces a month ago and had that brioche ice cream sandwhich with white chocolate and macadamian nut ice cream and chocolate syrup. it was really good.

had early lunch reservations at beaches n cream but canceled. decided to go to ghiradellis at disney springs instead. fantastic sundaes.

Some of the flavors at ample hill, while interesting and very yummy, are quite sweet. I find ordering half vanilla/ half flavor is just perfect.

Oh great... now I want ice cream
