Ok, so I have a really silly question.....

Does the small world clock run all night? I know that it has to keep time 24 hours a day, but does the little show that happens every 15 minutes happen all night? My DH and I were discussing this the other night and I didn't know the answer. :goodvibes

See.... I told you it was silly!:blush:

I believe it does not.

When we had our after hours tour they said that the only rides that don't shut down are Tarzan and one other..but not small world.

DH says it's not a clock...? (He could be pulling stuff out of the air LOL)

I didn't know there was an after hours tour? :thumbsup2

And I'm pretty sure there's a clock... :goodvibes:

Mahaha I told him there was!

We got an after hours tour with the Dream Suite. We didn't do much because our 2 year old crashed LOL

Your DH is wrong. It is absolutely a clock. It shows the time every 15 minutes as pictured below and the "march" of the dolls is based on the clock as well.

FTR, I would assume that the clock would have to run all night. Now that I'm trying to recall, maybe it WAS the other ride that doesn't shut down... I should've taken notes ;)

Well, on a coo coo clock you can "lock" the door so it doesn't make noise at night. I imagine IASW is similar. I bet they can keep the clock running but shut down the 15 min noise part. Just my guess. :confused3

I figured that the internal clock would have to run 24/7, but I guess I was wondering more about the "march" of the dolls (that Dreams so eloquently named it :goodvibes). Can you imagine working all night and hearing that every 15 minutes? I am sure that they are all very busy, but without the rest of the crowd noise, ride noise, and music to drown it out, it would have to be more noticeable. The bells/horns that sound every 15 minutes with the dolls is actually what I have for an alarm tone on my cell. So, at 4AM every day, DH gets to hear the IASW clock (which is what started this conversation to begin with, and whether or not they are also going off in DL at the same time)! :lmao: I just figured that if I have to wake up to an alarm, why not a Disney one?:goodvibes

To answer your questions I doubt the Dolls run at night. My reasoning is because there are hundreds of reports of people being in Small World plaza at the quarter hour and it didn't run during the day.

I don't think the mechanisms are linked.

Well, in this Disney blog video about the news topiaries that were just installed at IASW, you can at least see the exterior of the building and its various parts are moving and spinning, so it does seem that at least those parts run all night. :thumbsup2
