I wonder if SSR will be available... SIZE?

Monday I call to make spring break ressies at our home at BCV. I really wanted to swap at seven months to SSR. But, after seeing the pics I wonder if it is going to be really hard to get in there at first, cause it looks fantastic. I know eventually it will be a large resort, but right now it is rather small?
Anyone think I'll have a chance come swap time for a trip there a week after Easter next spring?
Wondering about the amount of units that will be open then...

IIRC, there will be 3 or 4 more buildings open by Spring Break next year. (One opening per month starting in January I think...too lazy to search the FAQ). Unless you want a GV, I doubt it will be a problem.

The only known development schedule for buildings 5-12 was one building per month beginning in January '05. But that info came from WebmasterDoc about 6 months ago, and I have no idea if that is still valid info or not.

However, remember that rooms are only available for point stays after they have been declared into inventory. This happens only when the applicable number of points have been sold to members.

So, even if there are 8 buildings open by April '05, the number of DVC rooms will depend upon how many points have been sold as of that point in time. Unsold rooms still belong to DVD and can be rented for cash.

Right now, they have sold at least 2 buildings worth of points and are well into #3.

Thanks. So how does this amount so far compare to what say VWL or BCV has? I know this will potentially be a huge resort, is it even near as to what VWL or BCV has in points bought?

I believe there are 70 rooms open for May 17th - I recall the target being about 552 rooms across the 12 buildings - that would be roughly 46 rooms per building

3 buildings = appx. 144 rooms

BCV = 208 rooms
VWL = 136 rooms

I think more than 3 buildings will be declared into inventory by the time your stay rolls around - probably even at the 7mo window, you should be able to get into SSR for that week

Each building has 46 rooms (2 GV, 20 dedicated 2Bs, 24 lockoff 2Bs). I wouldn't be surprised to hear that 4 full buildings are sold-out by next spring. That means about 184 rooms available for point stays (or more, depending on how you count the lockoffs.)

My understanding is this is a little larger than all of VWL, but a bit smaller than BCV.

But, I have no idea of what sort of schedule they would use in moving units into inventory. For example, even if the resort is totally booked when you call, a room could become available due to point sales in a week...month...couple months...whatever.

Once a room is moved into inventory...BOOM...you've got an entire 11 months worth of dates that are completely unbooked for that unit.

I'd definitely waitlist and have high expectations for getting a room.

I plan on booking BCV Monday and trying for SSR at 7 months. I'll waitlist if I have to. I really want to try it out. Worse case is we have to stay at BCV again. NOT!
