I won a trip to WDW through work! :cool1: I am so excited! :cheer2:
It is set up for a family of 4 at a value resort, 4 nights including park hopper passes & airfare. There will be only two of us, so we save a lot on airfare and park tickets. Maximum value is $3000...being more than realistic on airfare at $800, it leaves us $2200 for our package.

Where would you stay on this budget? We will travel during value season so we can afford to ad a 3-day cruise on our own.

Congratulatoins - Value - try the new POP resort - pick your time frame - 50's, 60's, 70's ?

Have a magical time :cool1:

If your only option are the value resorts, I would pick Pop Century. It is newer, has a couple of perks the other values don't have (Mickey soaps, etc.), and doesn't share a bus with other resorts. Plus, the theming is pretty neat.

Another vote for Pop Century. We stayed there this past Nov. and loved it.
Congratulations :cool1:

I HOPE that we can upgrade. I'm calling the TA tomorrow. Thanks for the tip on POP...it didn't even exist last time we went to WDW. We've been doing Disney cruises and love them so much that I didn't realize how much I missed "the world". I'm excited to go back! :Pinkbounc

Congratulations!!!! Gosh, with $2200 and staying value season, if you could upgrade hotels -- you could stay most anywhere on that budget!! Oh, and your $800 R/T for 2 seems really high, so you'd have even more $$ to play with! Let us know what the TA says, and congrats. again!!

POP is a blast!!! We stayed there 4/5 - 4/9!!! Liked it so much we are staying there for Thanksgiving!

Since there are only 2 of you and it's for 4 nights. I would think that you could upgrade to at least a moderate in value season, if not a deluxe, and still get under $3000 with about $500 for round trip airfare. If you must go value, definitely go POP.

whoo hoo!
I get to upgrade. The TA said she had the same situation last year and the couple were upgraded to AKL! She's looking at GF for us! It's a once in a lifetime for us! I'd even be happy to "down grade" to the beach club or something! Oh ...I am so excited! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Someone in my office won a trip to WDW by designed a new company logo. It was also for 4 people but just her and her husband went. They upgraded to YC and got the meal plan. She was always a whiner. First she complained that she had to pay taxes on the value of the trip, so the company sent her a check to pay for it. Then when she came back, she complained the food wasn't good. It was all free............ Ironically, she was fired not long after, didn't hear the official reason but assume it was because of her work attitude.

Let me be the 1st to send a great big old CONGRATS on getting the upgrade! Given the time of year and value of the prize, you should definitely look into the GF (or the Poly concierge). Make some nice dinner plans, too (or the meal plan if you do a pkg).

Keep us updated!

Happy, happy happy for you!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc but jealous for me!!

If value is it I hear POP is the way to go, if you get to go moderate then POR mansion is my vote!!

Wow...the GF! It will be like a second honeymoon! You should get the bride and groom ears!

Save some of the money for a couples massage or something!

Good for you!

:earseek: Let's hope that's not me!
I've done some research on GF tonight, I hope it's not to stuffy for us! I know this TA (and probably my DH) is going to hate me by the time I make up my mind.

Congrats!!! How awesome for you!

And take all the time you need to make your decision...us DIS'ers know a thing or two about switching resort choices! :rotfl:

i would rent points, during value season you get OKW studio about $80 a night or BWV studio for $90 a night ssr studio for $110 a night. VWL or BCV studio $120 a night. in the studio you get a queen bed, full pull out couch, mini kitchen. yep, that would be the way to go, stay in a deluxe room at a fraction of the cost.

I don't get it. :sad2: My husband won a trip to Aruba from his company and we were more than happy to pay the taxes. It was a wonderful trip! Made even better knowing it was free. :mickeybar

Wow, the GF! That's my dream vacation. We visited it last month, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I didn't think it seemed stuffy at all. (The Bally shop on the second floor, maybe a little stuffy).
