I don't quite understand the golf thing, how did you get into it.? I am looking for some sport for me and DD11 to learn? my DD is quite keen!

I played to a 10 Hcap so 4 under Oh and I had a blob on one hole too and had several lip outs

I come from a golfing family and started playing when I was about 14/15, I then gave up at aged 20 due to a bad back and moving away from home (no money) but as I married a Golf Professional (we met on the golf course of course ) I've still always been around it!

It is a lovely game but very addictive and it does take a lot of practise. My DD who's 12 next week has started playing and it's amazing how quickly they pick it up. Make sure to get some lessons if you do take it up though! Oh and you don't need to spend alot on golf clubs. My DH gave me several irons to try out and the ones I hit best were £99 the set, he was so pleased

I'm playing tomorrow at a golf day organised by some local accountants, and I was hoping to get above 30, let alone anywhere near 40!! Just hope I don't get too wet, albeit at least then I'd have something to blame

Good luck, I played a scratch knockout today against a girl off of 4 and I knew she's beat me but I did better than I thought, she only beat me 5 and 4

Well sadly didn't get too near the dizzying heights of 40, a rather paltry 27 I'm afraid, however I did blob on 6 holes, so some hope, and we only got 24 shots and I normally score around 100. Didn't get too wet though - a brief heavy shower and sunny days for the rest of the time.

Highlights of the round - net birdie straight of the bat on the 1st (with only one shot given) and a 30/35 yard chip in over a bunker and to an elevated (about 8 ft) green - so good start and good finish and that's all I'll remember

Well done, Jo. Even I'm starting to get addicted to golf and I'm worse than rubbish, so I can imagine winning something like this must really spur you on. A handicap of 13, huh? I dream of breaking 13 strokes per hole.

You can do it Deb, it takes some practise but you will get there, just tell Matt you need more time to play
