Just have to say that I really wish they would continue the Birthday Promo again this year! We didn't take advantage of it this past year, but it got me thinking what a great idea it is...and now of course I want to do it!

I agree. We did and it was great. The new Give a Day would be good if they had something going on in the area we live, but presently they do not.

Sure would ~ we'll actually be there for DD's B~day this year, we visited several times last year but not once for our B~days.

I, too, wish they would have continued the birthday promo this year. I had a plan to go to DLR for my birthday last year and get my Fun Card, and the plan fell apart at the last minute, with no time to really come up with an alternate plan, so I didn't get to go. I sooooooo wanted that Fun Card!! And it is annoying because I know other people who went specifically to get their Fun Cards, which they did, and they still have them because they "don't know what to spend them on.":scared1::scared1::scared1: Can you imagine - not knowing what to spend your Fun Cards on? (They are Disneyland fans, but not avid fans like we all are here on the DIS, and they don't care about merchandise!!) They decided that since they couldn't use the Fun Cards for food, they would just hang on to them! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:scared1: I never even got a chance to get my own Fun Card, and they have $144 worth of merchandise to buy between their two cards and they haven't used them because they can't think of what to use the cards on!! Arrrrggggghhhhhhh!:rotfl2::rotfl2: I already had a list of what to get with my Fun Card when I thought I was going to get one last year, and I would have had that thing spent within a couple of hours!!!

I like the Give a Day, Get a Day promo idea, but so far, the opportunities in my area seem to be very skill-specific and not really things I could do, not to mention that they need people for way more than just one day. They are all ongoing volunteer positions. I am hoping something more suitable pops up soon.

sherry they should have given YOU their cards! LOL

I liked it too but I'm sort of glad they didn't do it again, otherwise we'd be trying to figure out how to spend our "free" bday money....LOL

You're telling me! I bet you anything my two friends with the unused Fun Cards will still have those Fun Cards in their wallets by the next time I see them (probably in October or December)!! They are just not big Disney merchandise people, and I have a feeling that if they had realized that the Fun Cards would not get them any meals in DLR (they didn't talk to me first or I would have told them that), they probably would not have rushed over to DLR to get the Fun Cards on their birthdays. They probably would have just let them go. Meanwhile, I literally could have both of those cards spent completely in a couple of hours (and the bulk of the time would be just running from one store to another)!! Oh well. Life will go on!:sad2:

Bummer. We are going for our twins 5th birthday and since they can't volunteer I thought they could get their free ticket! I hadn't read that yet. Learn something new everyday on here.
