I wish I had packed (insert here) for my resort room.....

I think one thing I would make sure to take is extra tank tops, sleeveless blouses -- that sort of thing. I ran out of matching tops for my shorts. Had to go and wash after 4th day which was NOT in the plan!! And of course tops on everyone's list--MORE MONEY!! :rotfl:

I learned/remmebered a few things when I went to Disney in Fall 04 I wish I had packed soft toilet paper, soft klennex, extra hangers, and clothes pins. When I went down in Jan 05 I UPSed all of that to myself...it was so nice to have soft toilet paper/klennex and I was able to hang all of my pants/tops up for easy viewing.

UPS'ing/FedEx'ing is an awesome idea! Did you do the same when you left? If so, was there a location nearby to drop the package off?

Thanks!

We always send a box ahead via UPS. You can even find out exactly how long your package will take by going to their website.

I send breakfast foods, snacks, paper products, juice boxes, our Brita bottles, ponchos, and anything I don't want to pack. Our box has always been delivered to our room sometime the first day. Just be sure to tell the front desk that you are waiting for a package when you check-in.

I haven't sent anything home but I am sure that your resort could help with that.

Good luck!

This is a little thing, but you can purchase a small packet of "Hefty Handy Sacks" at my Target, for $1. Basically, it's plastic grocery bag size plastic bags, and they are all folded up into a small plastic package, with a resealable flap.

I carry one with my travel gear......it's great to have a throwaway size bag for all sorts of things.....if you have extra trash, for swim suits and so on.

Our Target sells them right next to the cash registers, where they sell candy, batteries, etc

Best tip I learned from these boards was to bring some of those snap hooks (suction cup type that lock on the wall) to hang up wet bathing suits, etc in the shower. I used one for my bath puff that I bring along.

Night light, in case anyone needs to find the bathroom in the middle of the night.

I LOVE the power strip idea! I am travelling with 3 other adults next month, and we will all have digital cameras and cell phones......... (we will be at WLV in a 1BR)

Great idea! I am going to pack one for sure!

I wish I had packed a power strip for my room. With so many electronic devices, I used every outlet.

Digital Camera
Digital Camcorder
Laptop
Cell Phone
Pocket PC

I also wish I had a can of air freshener for the bathroom. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :goodvibes

Great Idea!

last time I thought I tossed two books into my bag but there was only one. I like to get up really early and sit on the balcony reading and having some hot chocolate while waiting for the rest of the group and I finished my book the first day! Now I make sure to have a few paperbacks along.

liquid soap for hand washing
bar soap dries out my handsprincess:

a power strip is a must!

I brought my own Tide Target travel size liquid detergent last year and it worked great! :laundy: It also only costs $1

I brought several apples in my checked luggage(in a gallon ziploc bag) because I have found that I need some fiber on vaca and it is hard to come by in WDW!

If you are staying on site pack GUM. I am not a gum chewer, but DH begged me for gum so much I drove off site to get it.

Last time I wish I packed a power strip. We had EVERYTHING connected, but I could only charge two things at a time, and between the camera, laptop, 2 cell phones, iPod, portable DVD player, this was a problem. :(

If traveling with little ones . . . .

dustbuster! also great for quick cleanups on the trip

scented diaper disposal bags, 'cause you know always go after mousekeepings been there!

a small basket to dump all the toiletries, brushes, etc into and get off the vanity

love the powerstrip idea, adding that to my list also

Thanks for bumping this thread. These are all great suggestions that bear repeating.

I will always pack a digital thermometer when I go to WDW from now on. During my trip this past spring I came down with a sore throat and the only thermometer available for purchase at the resort was one of those inaccurate forehead strips that measured my temp plus/minus 2 degrees. Two degrees can make a big difference in treatment. The forehead strip indicated a temp of 99 - 100, but I wound up going to one of the nearby clinics, where my temp was registered at 101. I strongly suggest taking a digital thermometer, especially if you are traveling with children.

I keep a small can of concentrated aif freshener from Bath & Body works in my suitcase always. WDW hotels are generally okay but when I had to travel with DD's to All Star cheer competitions some of the places we stayed ,whew! I remember one place was so bad (comfort inn, ) that I kept a travel candle lit the entire stay and it was a non smoking room! My girlfriend actually took off to Walmart (no target in this town :( ) to buy shower shoes/flip flops for her and her daughter because her carpet was so nasty. Get the picture: middle class sheer mom & two DD's pull up to this motel in European sedan and immediately spot Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise (yeah right!) one in a undershirt like Stanley in Streetcar, the other gloriously shirtless in January in the TN mountains, standing in an open doorway chugging PBR from the can at 3 in the afternoon while scratching an imaginary itch on their belly (or feel free to insert another part of the anatomy). Kids immediately look at me look to mom and go "we want to go back to the Renaissance (hotel in Atlanta that last competition was close to!) Fast forward to another mom securing her outside corridor door with a chair while I had the inside corridor room with the smells. One family pulled up in their car (hummer), DH took one look and said "not no but he** no!" I was stuck because as a mom without dad on this trip I didn't relish the idea of being in a strange city in a strange hotel without anyone else I knew around me. After that trip I felt the need to travel with a .357 Magnum and a can of LYSOL! :rotfl: :rotfl: This is a true story by the way!

I just read this whole thread and this post really jumped at me. Who cares what kind of car someone drives? So many judgemental statements. I really cant believe I just read it. Ok, I am off my soap box. I will get back to reading this post...and what things people have found helpful..........

Oh man, I have so many "must haves"!!! ;)

a fan for noise
laundry tablets and quarters
kitchen trash bags for dirty laundry
fanny pack
an extra phone cord for my laptop
plenty of batteries for walkie talkies and pal mickey
chargers for our cell phones and digital camera
phone number list, including local AOL #'s for dialup
ziploc bags, sandwich size and freezer size, good for all kinds of things
quarters and pennies for pressed penney machines
expensive light-up toys for nights at the park (so we don't have to buy new ones for every trip!) ;)
my lime green ribbon!
extra duffle bag for "unexpected" purchases
mickey ponchos!!!! (don't want to buy those every trip either) ;)
first aid kit
sewing kit, safety pins
cold medicines for us and the kids (someone is always bound to get sick)
other assorted medicines for all kinds of problems ;)

Boy, I could go on and on........ :rotfl:

It almost seems like you have seen my suitcase! I have a DISNEY SUITCASE I keep filled with all my "necessities" for WDW and fill as I go about everyday life, planning always for my next WDW trip :goodvibes and this list is so much like mine!!! I love this thread, I have already picked up a few new ideas....:grouphug:

Small amount of glitter (to put in my daughters bath towel to show her tink was there)[/QUOTE]

:scared: Careful, that glitter can irritate, and seems to just stick to skin forever - also irritates little eyes :sad1:  . Speaking from experience here....

prescription allergy medicine. Sometimes going from a place with no pollen to everything being full bloomed is hard to handle. Since we always rent a car and know where the mall, walmart and most shopping is, we can buy whatever we might forget. Since we go every 3 months, I bags stay packed.
