a lot of one dollar bills for tipping at the airport, mousekeeping etc....

I do the mousekeeping tips in envelopes labeled for each day before leaving. Makes it easier not having to worry about it.

Otherwise I tote my own luggage, so the only time I need to tip for ME back to the airport since SW does't have the RAC. Then of course I tip the baggage room when they go back to get the luggage.

Liquid soap for the sinks. Nothing's grosser than picking up a slimy soap bar. It's in my planning notebook for the next trip.


I saw someone else mention the noise machine- we always bring ours, it makes such a difference. I'd be miserable without it.

I got ours from brookstone almost 10 yrs ago when DH was working midnights. I've seen others out there, like from homedics, but can't personally vouch for it. The brookstone one we have is fairly compact and does take batteries if you don't want to bring the adapter.

When the TSA banned liquids in carry-ons, I packed a roll of saran wrap to seal all the liquid toiletries I knew might leak in our checked luggage on our return flight (they also get packed in One-Zip bags, but I wanted to try and save as much of the product as I could). But while at WDW I found I used it several times for wrapping up leftovers we brought back to the room that we otherwise would have discarded. When packing to fly home I took all the paper items we had collected (brochures, receipts, maps, etc.) and wrapped them together in one big bundle -- very neat and easy to drop into a suitcase without all the individual pieces sliding around in the suitcase.

I also have for years carried lots of extra One-Zip freezer bags in quart and gallon sizes. We pack toiletries in them but usually find we need a few extra.

Oh- I always bring that extra duffle bag- I KNOW to EXPECT unexpected purchases! LOL! I have one that is just simple nylon with handles, no frills, smushes into nothing to leave with and is our 3rd bag going home!

Oh, watch out when you store your ponchos- i smushed mine into freezer bags- great for toting around park, but when I went to get them out for our next trip one had mold all over it, I washed it in bleach and nothing seems to work- be SURE its completely dry before storing.

I put my ponchos in a bag also and haven't check them since the last time we went. I need to get them out. I also bought mine at wal mart and they are so much cheaper than the park.

I love all these ideas! We certainly found on our last trip that we desperately needed a night light so we will be making sure to bring one in Oct and Jan. Keep them coming, guys!!

I haven't had a chance to read all the tips, so if this is a repeat, please forgive me.

One thing I always take is a B&BW Wallflower for the room. I keep the lid that goes on the fragrance bulb, & recap it when we leave. They last for quite a few trips, & I replace as necessary. An odor neutralizer isn't a bad idea either.

I also take pump soap. (I usually take a matching fragrance from B&BW, but any kind you like will do.) I can't stand wet, slimy bar soap. YUCK!

We've been going to disney for a while now and we've found that those refillable mugs you can buy at the hotels come in handy. Our kids fill them up when ever they want.
We're also big coffee drinkers so we always bring a can of our favorite coffee with us.

We travel with Lysol spray-great for de-germing bathrooms and all other surfaces including the phone and remote! Also, Febreeze is great to de-germ and freshen up the bedspread and sofa fabric.

I forgot to pack suntan lotion above 15, and when I got to Disney all they sold was Copertone, which I'm allergic to. I thought they use to sell Hawaiian Tropic, which I can tolerate, but I was sadly mistaken and forced to reapply sunscreen every five seconds.

Another noise blocking alternative is ear plugs. They block out normal hotel noises, but I also use them when I want to go to sleep earlier or nap when others are still awake in the room.

Off topic- They're also great on a plane. They were a life saver to me once when I unexpectedly found myself on a tiny but noisy little commuter plane. The airline employee sitting next to me was also wearing a pair.

Small flashlight so my daughter can find the bathroom (husband can't stand nightlights)
Small amount of glitter (to put in my daughters bath towel to show her tink was there)

Better yet, we bring several pieces of Pre-Cut moleskin in different sizes. And I carry them in my fanny pack at the parks.

Coffee filters (each time we've requested a coffee maker, it didn't come with filters, or the nasty coffee that is in some type of netting.

this is a great thread. wish i had time to read all the posts. we took a power strip this trip and boy did it come in handy for the 3 cell phones and camera batteries that needed charged each night and the lap top.

Love the idea of a night light. Added it to my vacation packing list so we don't forget it next time.

We have taken Dawn Dish Wipes in the past but could not find any this time. Any one know where to buy them?

Thanks for bumping this thread. These are all great suggestions that bear repeating.

I will always pack a digital thermometer when I go to WDW from now on. During my trip this past spring I came down with a sore throat and the only thermometer available for purchase at the resort was one of those inaccurate forehead strips that measured my temp plus/minus 2 degrees. Two degrees can make a big difference in treatment. The forehead strip indicated a temp of 99 - 100, but I wound up going to one of the nearby clinics, where my temp was registered at 101. I strongly suggest taking a digital thermometer, especially if you are traveling with children.
