So now that Max Pass is operational, on my next visit in June 2018 I will not be buying it.

I am an international visitor and I dont have data in the USA. This year June 2017, I tried using Wifi in the parks but its just not reliable enough.

Without data, Max Pass is not a viable option.

Also I have no interest in Photo Pass. 2017 was my 8th visit to the parks and not once during 8 visits have I met characters or had any interest in ride photos or had my photo taken by the park photographers.

I have thought about buying a USA Sim card but decided against it, as part of my holiday in USA is being on a digital detox and not being as contactable as I am i regular day to day life.

Also yes I know some European countries have data deals for USA specifically the 3 network in UK. I am from Ireland and this deal is not available to Irish users.

Is there anyone else who knows that they will not be buying Max Pass on their next visit?

I won't, and that's in two weeks. And then I'll have another trip in November, and at this time I'm 100% NOT going to get it. For a family of 5, it's just too costly to pay that much for something that's free. And all it does is add convenience. For what it would cost, I could stay another two nights in a hotel near DL.

I have a family of 5 and usually take my mother with us, too, to help with the 3 kids, so for 6 of us, even living only 90 minutes away, it's not worth it. Occasionally I'll go solo or with only one kid and I might consider it then, but for the rest of 2017, I will not. 2019, my next planned visit, might change, but that's a long time from now.

I'd buy if for a couple of days to focus on photos and/or rides and that's it.

It was cheaper for us to buy the Photopass One Week (First Trip for Us) and plan on using the regular fp. $30 ad day is ridiculous.

Not planning either ($40 for us * 4 days). At the very least, possibly on our last day but that's just if our feet are sore and/or the crowds are going to be much heavier that day due to the marathon. Originally we weren't going to have data like you (from Canada), but only recently we decided to get a phone plan..just to be able to check wait times.

i do believe they are improving wifi to better serve people without data. you should try out wifi next time around...

I'll be there on Monday for a 3-day trip. Data doesn't concern me. $10 a day doesn't concern me. Multiplying that $10 by 4 for my family, or by 10 for our entire party pushes it into the "no sale" category.

It will be our first trip next month DL and I don't plan to buy it either. I need a break from scheduling a fastpass which is what I have to do at WDW. Hopefully the stand by lines will be shorter due to Maxpass and paper fastpass. We are also staying onsite so we'll take advantage of the Early Morning Magic hours.

It'll just be my daughter and I this trip so for $20/day I'll probably get it for one or two days, but not every day. If our whole family of 6 was going, no way.

Paper fp's are free for you!

Another option is :
1. buy a used hotspot on ebay.
2. Get a prepaid card, as lowas $20 for 2gb for 30 days.
3. Sell hotspot on ebay
4. Profit

Nope, us neither. As a family of 6 way to expensive. Also being from Canada it would mean more money to not get a huge bill for our phones after the holiday. I don't mind standing in a reasonable line, gives me time with my family!

I'm not planning to buy it, but I do have it since it's included "free" with my pass. It's nothing I would actually purchase, though, as an add on cost. I do worry about what future cost increases to MP will do to the cost of my Sig+ :(

Honestly, I'd like to see it fail if just because I hugely dislike there being a charge for it at all. While it adds "value" (this is subjective hence the quotes) to my pass that I've continually told Disney in surveys it lacks compared to the Sig, I don't think FPs should have a charge. Having PP with it just helps them justify charging for it.

Has anyone actually used it yet?

I may try. I don't really enjoy running for my fastpasses.

The charge is kind of obnoxious but I'm hoping that means not all that many people will use it. More chances to score fps for rides I like.

I think Disney is kind of figuring the target audience is local. We've mostly all got data. It would certainly lot be frustrating if you were an international visitor, but I've seen far fewer of those at DL than at Wdw. And I've yet to go to a destination where I'd want to rely on wifi anyway. I tried to do that for a a few days here in Japan but it's infuriating. But I easily get lost and google maps is mostly why I pay for data.
