I will NEVER Used Them Again!!!!!!

I am at the world right now, and I have always used Walker for an ECV, well tonights situation really took it toll! I was off to go to the MK for the extra hours, and we are having a huge thunder/heavy rain storm. My EVC, which was covered on the box, just died, while I was in the pouring rain, on the dock at the WL and the lighting was dancing off the water!
A guy had to push me to the lobby and he looked at the box under, one of the cables is loose. And he said not to use it till it is fixed because it could happen again. So I am stuck inside at the WL, and I called the number to let them know and get some help, the guy was the rudest person I have ever talked to!!!!!! This was my ONLY night to do the extra hours, and he says to me, " oh well, no big deal" WHAT? he said my day was not lost!!..excuse me???? I had only THOSE plans for the night!! Who is he to tell me that it is No big deal?????

ok, so I cannot understand his issue to the fact that tonight was so un important to me:confused3 I have used them for many years, and I will NEVER again use them!!

I just cannot beleive what he said!!!:scared1:

I had problems with their scooter breaking down twice last year. This year I am using Apple.

Did you ask to speak with a supervisor or anyone else?
 

I've had trouble with them too. When I used to work in resorts, I was helping a guest reserve an ECV to use at MK the next morning. He told my guest that he would have someone meet her at the park that morning. As soon as she hung, I asked her when and where he was going to meet her, as it's not like he can drive the ECV right up to the front of the park. When we called back, he refused to talk to me and made me put the guest back on the phone. When she asked if she was to meet him at the TTC or inside the park, he just said "we'll figure it out just look for us" and hung up. :confused3 Needless to say, we reserved an ECV through another company and wondered if Walker ever showed up that morning

YES, I emailed them after calling and getting that guy. I emailed them and I returned the scooter this morning and expect to get the two day refund, I also asked for a refund for the day I had this problem which was yesterday. I am also going to file a complaint with BBB.

so I spent 8 hours today on :headache: and I am now in pain!!!
 
That is horrible.... I read on another thread people were having problems with the customer service, so I went with Apple... while I was at the MK my scooter started loosing power, I called, and within 30 min someone met me right outside the gates with a new battery.

can you beleive it is sunday now , this happened friday and I have not heard back from them AT ALL!!!!!
I went to Epcot yesterday with crutches and walked around for 8 hours...now I cannot move this morning............

I want my money back! I will when I get home file with the BBB, I will not stand for this at all. And I will continue till I prove to them they cannot get away with this!

Why didn't you get a Disney ECV yesterday? I can understand some huge frustration on your part but I don't think this is a BBB issue. Stay calm and deal with them professionally. Do not allow one bad apple to spoil your whole vacation; it is your choice to stay up or allow yourself to go down. No one is in control of you in that way. You are talking about a company I've rented from over a dozen times and had not one even small snafu. It happens; I'm so sorry it happened to you.
 
Sorry you experienced such bad customer service! I agree with the PP, if you have more days in your vacation definitely rent a disney ECV so that you can enjoy your park time. Deal with the refunds, etc. when you get home so you can concentrate on enjoying the rest of your trip. Hope things look up for you!

It was actually difficult to deal with so many people on scooters this trip. We've been going to WDW since 1999, and it's amazing how many more people are using ECVs now compared to back then.

If the number of scooter-users on WDW vacations continues to increase, Disney is going to need to revamp how it handles guest transportation. The situation is getting out of hand.

It was actually difficult to deal with so many people on scooters this trip. We've been going to WDW since 1999, and it's amazing how many more people are using ECVs now compared to back then.

If the number of scooter-users on WDW vacations continues to increase, Disney is going to need to revamp how it handles guest transportation. The situation is getting out of hand.

I felt the same thing our last trip for the Food & Wine Festival-in the dark around the lagoon at Epcot it became hazardous trying to dodge all these scooters-seriously too many of them.
 
The crowd size overall was huge last week. We went a week earlier this year than last, and I don't know if that's the reason it was so much more crowded and busy. CMs at our resort told us they were at 100% occupancy during our first weekend.

Another problem is that not everyone who rents one at WDW is skilled in driving them. I got my ankle bashed into one time and saw someone else's foot get run over. It was scary.

I agree. There are also other offsite rental companies that would be happy to have your business; since you have DIS access, you could get the contact information from the FAQ on the disABILITIES Board.

And it's not - at least yet - a BBB issue. You've made two calls, within minutes of each other, unless there were subsequent calls you haven't mentioned. You're telling us you want your money back, but have you told Walker Mobility? Management? Agreed, the person with whom you spoke Friday was rude and flippant, but it doesn't seem you've made any additional attempts to contact the company during business hours.

When I've had trouble with Walker ECVs - twice in one trip - they've been GREAT about getting me replacements... and I've spoken with the (an) owner.

Somebody mentioned maybe Walker can't keep up with demand? Not an issue at all. Trust me (and this is one of the rare times when you really can trust someone who says, "trust me" :))
