Folks, reread the OP's letter, she pretty much stated she didn't blame Disneyland for the problem but rather didn't like the treatment she received. Big difference in my book. To the Op, I think you are starting to feel attacked and I feel bad for you. I do think a lot of these responses are high on judgement and low on sympathy. If I had a dime for every time I lost something really important I'd be rich, I guess most other people don't have that problem! I do want to second that at WDW, tickets are sometimes replaced, I have seen it happen (though not experienced it personally). I have to say however that each time I go to WDW they seem to be getting tougher with ticket policies to eliminate people using other peoples tickets (hence the biometric scanners) so it may be that WDW will stop, or has already stopped, replacing lost tickets as well. But, can we all agree the situation of having one Disney park replace a lost ticket in the past, might make for some expecatations on this poster's part? Yes, it does say on the back of the ticket not replaceable if lost or stolen, it probably says that on the back of the WDW tickets too, but she still got them replaced.
In closing I want to say to Dana that here on the Disneyland side of disboards we Disneyland lovers are frequently treated to comparisons between WDW and DL by WDW regulars who find Disneyland a pale comparison. It gets really old and I know I get really defensive sometimes too! The castle's too small, the food is lousy, DCA is pathetic, it just goes on and on. I am not at all saying thats you but it does happen on this board and I think others are obvioulsy reactive to it as well. So that may be why some people are defending the park they love in this thread, because they get sick of the comparisons and negativity by a few WDW regulars. I didn't get that from your OP and letter, but I also didn't see much in the way of positive comments about Disneyland either, which might have given some creedence to your complaints in some people's eyes. I also think the title to your thread put some people off, because it was so negative even though I didn't think the letter itself was. On that same line of reasoning if I went over to the WDW side and posted "Why I will never return to WDW again" I can pretty much bet the farm I'd be getting a lot of the same type responses you are, but in much larger numbers. Disney means a great deal to all of us, or we wouldn't be on this board in the first place, and we all take our "home" park seriously! On all of this I have no doubt you were treated rudely just as I have no doubt it could (and does) have happened at WDW too. I hope you will give Disneyland another chance sometime, I frequent both WDW and DL regularly and find them both magical. I couldn't give up one or the other! I hope your experience on this Disneyland board doesn't just sour you on Disneyland even more. Please let us know if you get a response to your letter. And I hope all of us, myself included, will learn from your experience and keep those tickets safe and sound!
