possibly book the 4/3 deal. Then I started thinking that I will just suprise the kids completely and take them on their first cruise. It will not be disney because it is out of the budget, but I would take them on a carnival.

What do you think?? My kids are 13 and 9.

The reason I have to cancel trip in aug with free dining pin is because dd starts high school and she is required to be there on the 19th and
20th of aug, the week we were going to be in Disney.

I think its a great idea! My kids love to cruise. We started taking them when my youngest was 8. They all have such a great time and Carnival is a wonderful line with kids.

I voted for the cruise because we love them & Carnival is super fun. I went on my first cruise when I was 15 and it was sooooo much fun. It's nice because you can be free from your parents & still under some supervision. Anything from karaoke to laying on the top deck at midnight looking at stars. Plus you can eat & eat & eat which is perfect for kids your age.

If not that, I would consider Universal, if they have any good deals. Your kids are the perfect ages for Universal.

I voted 4/3 deal... but that's because my DW is not a cruise ship person. How do your children feel about canceling the WDW trip? Were they heartbroken?

I would certaintly go with the cruise...especially at that time of the year and the HEAT...

I am a cruise person, and think your kids would love all the fun things to do onbaord the ship and the friends they will meet! Go for it!

My kids are easy going and I have not told them yet that I cancelled, but I have not told them that we were going either, just in case we could not go. I want to surprise them now with a cruise. I am thinking I will tell them we will go to florida to vacation but not go to disney world and tell them we are going to the beach. Then drive to the port and say we are going to the beach in the Bahamas!!! What do you think???

I think you need to have the kids book the vacation and surprise you. If your kids are like my kids, they will say "whatever".

9 and 13 is a great time to go to Disney. They can always go on a cruise later.
