I would much rather have you look at pretty flowers but decided, what the hey, come and see what the winter did to my yard!

First photo is the view from my window at my weather forecasting rhododendrums. They are telling me "baby, it's COLD outside". In the distance, you can see my poor little Kousa Dogwood, not yet two years old, shivering in the cold. The azalea bushes underneath just a memory right now.....

The next photo shows the Kousa dogwood from another angle...outside in the cold looking back at my warm home.... (can you see it? It kinda fades into one of the windows).....

Next is direct front view of the house. See how high the rhododendrums grew on the right side of the door. I have the hardest time keeping them from blocking the windows. DH wants to pull them all out. I have to fight him about it every year. The andrometers further to the right were moved because they were too close together and when we took out a cedar tree on this corner of the house - you would NOT believe how many trees this piece of property had! - we had room to spread them but they are not doing so well......

This last photo is just to even the sides out and to show you the big ugly pile of snow the snowplow guy left on our corner.... Oh wait, you can see my trees - front yard and back!!! (gotta keep it plant-related)....

I'm laughing at the picture of your dog in the path. My dog got stuck pooping in the snow, couldnt get himself out. So, I had to shovel a poop path to a poop area. I even took pictures...nooo, not of him pooping but of him checking out the path.

Your rhodos must be very happy there, Tulirose! :)

Don't you hate it when the snowplow dirties up the nice fresh snow?

A winter wonderland, thank you Tulirose! :)

Waaah! I miss rhododendrons. :(

Your house is a beautiful color!!! :) Um, it must go well with all the foliage (keep it on topic...) ;)

I bet that dogwood will bloom his bark off this spring. Will you post updated pictures throughout the seasons? I don't think we have dogwoods down here and they are such spectacular trees. I remember visiting Colonial Williamsburg in the spring several times and the dogwoods there were gorgeous!!! :)

Hang in there!

P.S. Cute doggie!

My mother always grew Rhodos when I was growing up...I love them! Great pictures, Tuli! Thanks for sharing them! :)

What a beautiful landscape tuli! Now you are going to have to take same angle pics through each of the remaining 3 seasons... and then do a "as the season's change" montage. I think that would be kind of fun to do!

WooHoo Tuli winter wonderland! Thanks for showing me what I missed.

While the snow was flying we were enjoying the warm Florida sun. How I hated to return. It's been raining since. The vernal pond is inching it's way into the back yard. I figure when with all this snow and rain I may have lake property in the spring.

On February 1st we had a flock of robins in the holly bushes, wonder where they've gone? Winter has returned with a vengeance, not that it ever left. It appears to be the winter that won't go away.
