I haven't read all the posts on this thread so i apologize if i'm repeating someones answer. But i believe this is a copyright issue. When i was there with my dh last december we got our picture snapped with the castle in the background at night and then we asked if we could get a picture of just the castle and the cm said no, they aren't allowed to do that for copyright issues. That someone could use that photo to make profit on.
Not sure if that's the case in this situation but thought i'd throw that out there.
NOOO, wait, I thought it was all about MEEEEE!!!I am the original poster and I was debating if I should respond again, but since everyone is still on it, Like
PixieDust32 said, it happened to her the same day with her Mom. So I am now saying I had an encounter with a not so happy CM. This thread was about a cm telling me I can't take a picture and I was confused on way. I didn't line drop, or snap a picture of anyone's Child I didn't interfere with anyone's time or space. I was standing near the bushes snapped a picture and that was it. I am so mad my goofball brother was looking at my pictures rotated the picture and didn't save it so I lost like 19 pictures off my camera. I wanted to post the pic it was of Donalds head and that was it. I also lost the picture of my son with the Hansen brothers![]()
This has gotten so out of control, come on people this was about me![]()
Sorry I had to lighten the mood.
Everyone take a deep breath and once again let's agree to disagree.

As a professional writer, that makes no sense to me. For example, say I am doing a story on WDW or Disney Cruise Line or whatever. I can certainly take my own photos at any of those public places and use them in an article or book, which would make me money.
It went to Looneyland, by way of Crazytown, with a detour through Wackoville, and a stop for snacks in Bonkerscity a looooong time ago. This thing is just spinning off into looney land.![]()
For cryin' out loud, the CASTLE is one of THE most-photographed icons on the planet.![]()
????
So this image taken without a soul in sight would be copyright infringement? You forget there is fair use which applies to all works of art including photography. This has been a fun thread. People are really mixing up what is
1. Law
2. Good Sense
3. and whatever they want no matter what!![]()
Did you try and photopass the castle? I can understand them claiming copyright for that.
Sounds to me like your hysterical behavior would scar the poor kids even more, reiterating the idea that they're not safe, EVER, ANYWHERE!! At worst, it's scary to them and would make them feel even more vulnerable and insecure, and at best you're embarrassing the heck out of them.
And while you're freaking out about some innocent schmo who just wanted a candid of a character and didn't give two flips about your kids, who's watching those kids while you're running around trying to find a cast member?
Protecting kids is one thing, but taking it to a bizarrely extreme level at a THEME PARK is just nuts.
