SATURDAY, DEC. 1:

Due to a slight misunderstanding of communication I made it to Boma for a breakfast meet that had been canceled. Made my way to MGM and took a early morning ride on Rockin and Rollin. I asked to be seated near the front of the car and enjoyed my ride. Wandered around and spent some time in the Villain Shop and having my purchases sent to the Dolphin. The package arrived before noon the next door and the front desk called and left a message as where to pick up the package. Also, did Walt’s building - very cool and I was trying to figure out how to smuggle a couple of the castle models home. I was teary eyed at the end of the movie too.

Met up with Dave and had lunch at Prime Time. I had not eaten here before and enjoyed it. Aunt Sarah called me Princess and you can ask Dave what his name was. Aunt Sarah also said that the Princess didn’t look every well and said I could have one elbow on the table (then she added - to hold up her head - lol). But, I wasn’t the one who got 2 strikes before straightening up and behaving himself. Darn it, and here I was looking forward to seeing him stand in the corner and sing I am a Little Tea Pot!

I ordered the fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes - no gravy and green beans with carrots. Also ordered the strawberry milkshake. Dave had the pot roast and we split an order of the onion rings. Everything was really good and we both cleaned out plates. But, unfortunately, they were out of the Clean Plate Stickers. Didn’t have room for any dessert though. I started to feel pretty good after lunch and got my second wind. We wandered around and met up with some Dis’ers at one point. I did have another Mickey bar too.

Stayed and watched the parade, though I wished I had gotten a place to sit and video tape.

From here, got on the boat, where I was headed for Epcot to catch the 4 p. m. Tapestry of Dream parade. Even got a little nap on the trip. Found a great spot to watch and tape. Soon the parade started, and as each "unit" came out I would do a little wave. About all of them responded back with some kind of a motion. As the parade continued, I could hear a lady behind me saying "just who is that - everyone is waving to her?" I just smiled and kept on taping and waving.

After the parade, started my own private round two of DATW. Went back for seconds - started off in France where I treated myself to some champagne (since I missed it last night). I slowly walked enjoying the sights until I made my way to Canada where I was scheduled to have dinner that night. I found a bench, sipped my glass of vino and people watched.

Soon, it was time for dinner and our group met up. Watched a little of Father Christmas tell his story, but we were soon seated and ready to eat. I had the cheese soup (great) the breadsticks were wonderful and the strip steak (good), and green beans. Had a glass of wine with dinner (which wasn’t included in our prepaid dinner package). Had a not so good waiter - basically he disappeared but we had a great meal none the less.

After dinner a little more shopping, slowly working my way around the world to Norway for another glass of wine. Our next scheduled event was the private viewing of Illuminations in front of France on the two tier patio. We had great desserts and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Then Illuminations started. We were basically at the water edge - a GREAT place to view the show. Afterwards, Marsha and Linda were crowned Queens and we slowly made our way out of Epcot. We were all feeling a little sad as the first DIS CON was rapidly coming to a close. Just one more official event and it would all be over.

After a couple of Long Island Ice Teas and some reflection, tumbled into bed for a good nights sleep. Some of the group went to Jellyrolls, but they will have to tell ya all about that adventure.

That was the best viewong of Illuminations ever.... Enjoying your trip reports Marla!!!

I've gotta try that cheese soup. Maybe lunch tomorrow.. :D

The private viewing of Illuminations was just perfect, the location, the desserts and the company.

Jellyrolls was too crowded for us so we skipped it that night.

Thanks for bringing back fond memories of our September trip......without the booze.......rofl......thanks

Sounds like another fun DIS Con day...:)
