WEDNESDAY, NOV. 28:

The plan for the day was to sleep in since the parks didn’t open until 9, meet at the registration area, the Krispie Kreme meet, and then to the Animal Kingdom for the day.

Once registered and some orange juice, off to the park. Dave joined me for the fun. Did the Safaris, Festival of the Lion King, Kali Rapids, Dinosaur, and Tough to be a Bug. Got totally soaked on Kali - couldn’t believe how wet we got. We both dripped for hours. Had a Mickey bar or two along the way.

Stopped at Pizzari for a late lunch. Had pizza and salad. It was good, I just couldn’t finish my pizza (thought maybe I should have - more on this later).

Ducked out of the park to do a little shopping at the Rain Forest gift shop, looking for something for Kara - found the items and back in the park.

Security checks at the gate were no problem. Just have your bag (or bags) open or unzipped. In most cases was through security in just a couple of minutes. The only thing security asked me to open was my glasses case.

Wanted to see the new parade - Jammin’ so picked out a good spot, and Dave went to look at the tigers. He came back with a Simba paw for himself and we got ready for the parade.

This parade is really cute and a joy to watch. The music makes you want to get up and dance. After the parade, walked out of the park and to the bus back to the Dolphin. It was almost time for the Opening Reception of DIS CON I.

After a quick stop back in the room to change (finally) out of my wet clothes - let me tell ya - dry clothes felt pretty good about then, met up at the Yacht and Beach club for a couple of Long Island Ice Teas (by chance are you seeing a pattern here yet?) and then over the convention building for the reception.

The reception was a blast. It was so good to finally meet up with some of the people I have met in chat and on the boards. I have met so few Diser’s in person, I think I was in over load that night. Finger foods were served along with a cash bar. Pete spoke and welcomed all of us. Towncrier came in dressed in his Towncrier outfit and rang his bell to officially open DIS CON I.

The bartenders here were funny. They finally made a bet among themselves that I would make the Disney employee newsletter by Friday night (more on this too).

From here, a some of us wandered over to Epcot to have some French desserts (or wine) and to hear the British Invasion. Soon, a few of us were doing a kick line and having a great time. We also stayed and watched Illuminations.

From here, we wandered over to Jellyrolls where - well just let me say - a good time was had by all! Some more than others! But, my lips are sealed from this point. (But some of the pictures that have been posted - shall speak for themselves) he he he.

At some point, my body was telling me it was time for bed. Slowly wandered back to room to rest up for the adventures to come.

Glad you had a Mickey Bar for us Marla. Cant wait to get my own tomorrow. :D

I loved Jellyrolls! I lost my glasses and my voice that night. Got my voice back but I haven't seen my glasses since :(

Great reports, Marla! OK - you are now the 2nd person to report that we had a kick line while listening to the British Invasion, so I stand corrected! (I thought we merely swayed!)

okay... hmmmm I am starting to feel weird about missing out on all the fun! :p

Sounds like a blast, and TC opening up DCI - how cool is that!

Sounds like fun! Wish I could have been there...:(
