Found this card in my mail yesterday. The name and address did not ring a bell with me. Imagine my surprise to read the following:
Cindy,
You may be a little surprised to receive this card. I'm the AT & T guy who appeared at your door on a snowy day last March. It was a Sunday, dark and cold. I remember this well because I was in a bonus situation in my job where I would receive an extra $100 for my 10th sale of that weekend. I needed 3 for that Sunday and had 2 after 2 1/2 hours. I had about 3 hrs. to get one more. It was getting cold, darker, later and it would not stop snowing. I was running out of time when I decided to go to your area to try a few more doors before giving up and going home angry and beaten. I happened upon your door and you said yes quickly and with a smile. After a very frustrating day which included mean and stupid people I left your house grateful and happy. I remember thinking "She's on my Christmas card list!" And I was doing that job in the first place because I had lost my other job a few months earlier, and this after buying a house and getting married. I'm doing much better now, but I wanted you to know that you were responsible for a bright spot in a very bleak period for me.
Thank you. Ray
Well, do I have to tell you, that card brought tears to my eyes! Sometimes, when we least expect it, we touch people without even knowing it!
Merry Christmas my DIS friends!
