Yesterday a.m. I was rear ended by a purolator delivery truck. He was stopped behind me at a red light, when the light changed he accelerated to go but didn't wait for traffic ahead of us. The impact was strong but not what I would call severe.
I've made all the necessary calls to insurance etc and have had my vehicle inspected by the Body Shop. My quetsion is regarding me personally. I was not seriously injured...but I do have sore neck and shoulders my left arm is very numb and I have reduced use in it. My back hurts and I have severe headaches. My injuries do not require a lawsuit, there is no big pay off...here in the province I live there are actually clear rules regarding that.
I am not looking to profit from this but how do I make sure I am compensated for the things I must now have someone else do for me. The insurance company is being very coy in their questions and comments and I am not quite sure what or how to respond. They say since I don't work outside of the home there really isn't any compensation due to me....I tried to explain that my ds has a number of issues that make frequent Dr's appt's etc necessary with each of his 3 doctors. She said something about there's no claim for being a mom....something doesn't seem right.
I am hoping the pain I am in now is muscle and will go away quickly...I don't have the luxury of not being mobile. But what if it takes longer....Does anyone know if there is an impartial board or someone that can give me advice?
