I Was In A Bus Crash

yesterday morning. Usually I walk to the train station, but since it was a drizzily morning and I saw the bus stopped at a red light a block away I decided to ride rather than walk. Big mistake. As we pulled up to the next stop, this guy in a SVU came flying out of a side street and crashed right into the side of th bus just behind were I was sitting. I went flying myself out of the seat and must of cracked my head on one of the poles. Next thing I know I'm waking up in the emergency room. Don't even remember being taken off the bus. After extensive examinations they determined I could go home around 1:30 in the afternoon as long as I had someone with me to keep me from falling asleep (which was all I wanted to do) Still have a bit of a headache and my back is kind of soar, but I'm here at work and believe me I walked to the station today. The guy in the SVU took off and as far as I know no one got his plate number. At least no one was seriously injured.

Hit-and-run drivers are cowards and low-lifes, in my opinion. I hope they catch the bum.

Just FYI if you are going to need further medical treatment (sounds like you may) and if you don't have health insurance.....even if they didn't catch the guy who did it, you should look into getting the bus company to cover your medical expenses, as most are insured for that kind of thing.

You may want to talk to a lawyer ASAP, as if it is a state/city run bus line they may have shortened statute of limitations that adhere to cases against state/city agencies (here in Maine, it's 180 days for gov't cases vs. 6 years for private person/business cases).
