I Want to Say Thanks to One of the Most Helpful Boards Ever

Barely a little over 30 days left to our vacation and I need to humbly admit that without your help, tips and advice, I'd probably be spending thousands over and beyond what we are spending on our next trip.

In the last three years, I peeked here and there, signed on, and heeded to your advice. I got us a Delta Skymiles card which saved us over $1300 in three round trip tickets, joined My Points which got us 5 RFC gift certificates, several Red Lobster cards and even points to spare for the Hilton Honors program, for another trip in a few years. I had plenty of time to try and keep or boot off rewards programs, and got a little over $100 in Disney money I used to pay the kids for chores this year.
AP discounts, squeezing the last drop out of our DC membership, Entertainment book, USF promos... Altogether we're getting there with just abotu everything paid off ahead of time except for some meals and knick knacks. Took us a little, but thank you so very much for helping an ordinary family have a nice vacation!

This board has been great! From the daily trivia answers to the heads up on bonus emails and hidden points, I have gotten back way more than I have given. Because of all the hints that have been posted, it looks like my "dream trip" will be completely paid for before we get there! This board is the best kept secret on the DIS!

Every little bit of extra's you can get helps! My hubby laughs at me for doing these rewards but when I give him a Home Depot card he loves it

I wholeheartedly agree. Aside from being the most friendly people on the web, the folks on this board are wonderful! They encourage you, celebrate along with you, and help you get more and more rewards. It is the best kept secret on the DIS. But, personally, I like our little DIS family.
We oughta have a RPers DIS meet some day..... Now that I would go to.

I agree, too! This board has been great. I started reading a year ago, just before our last trip. It wasn't in time to help me with that one, but I've managed to save almost enough for this trip! I don't have to worry about the room, because we stay with my brother who is DVC. But I have enough Disney Dollars and DDRD on my Disney Rewards Card to pay for all of our food in Disney. I also have enough DD left over to pay for some odds and ends while down there, a $25 RFC card and $50 in Webbies on my plastic card (can we say SHOPPPING!), and a $50 AMEX cheque that I'll put towards a hotel night on the drive. We've already purchased and paid off (or will with this statement) our Park Pass and tickets to MVMCP. So all I need is about $400 to pay for gas, food, and lodging on the trip down and back (plus whatever we decide to buy that isn't covered by the Webbies). Since we travel with my brothers and parents, we split the cost of hotels and gas 4 ways, so that helps, too.

On top of all that, I've gotten quite a few Amazon GC and an Olive Garden GC, Borders GC, and The Gap GC. The grand total for the year-to-date is somewhere around $900. Not bad for 10 months of work (and I've slacked off the past 2 or so because of the pregnancy/morning sickness, which BTW, is finally gone--I hope!).

So, I can come here and talk Disney, talk about RP programs and everybody understands. We can't go to Disney as much as I'd like to (that'd be every year) and I've gotten really lazy about doing the programs but I still like to come here and see what everybody's up to, when is the next trip somebody is taking ... it's just a great place and a nice little community.

If there ever was a RPers Dis meet - you'd better tell me way ahead of time. I'd need to work off all the Halloween candy I've been munching on.

I feel the same way!! When I talk to my friends about memolink or free gift cards or test drives...they look at me like I'm speaking a foreign language. It's great to be able to share "finds" and "wins" with everybody here!
