I want to make t-shirts/sweatshirts for our upcoming trip and I am SURE there are some people here that have done so in the past. Please pass on your expertise, re: finding images, proccess, etc. I know I could buy them through the Disney Store but they are so dang expensive.

Also, I don't want to start a debate here, so please don't flame me, but has anyone here that made their own shirts been hassled by Disney, when wearing such copyright infringement "homemade" items.

Thanks,
Paula

I don't know about wearing home made Disney shirts at the world, but to make your own you could print out your picture onto iron on transfer paper made for your type of printer. Or you could find Disney character fabric, iron on fusible web, cut out the image and iron it onto a T-Shirt and use dimensional fabric paint to seal the edges. If you use the iron on printer paper, just be sure to wash the garment inside out in cold water and do not put it in the dryer to keep it looking good.

My sister made shirts for all of us. She used the iron-on transfer method twigs mentioned. There was clipart of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto and text - something like
Family Vacation
Animal Kingdom Lodge May 2001

No one hassled us about the clipart & several CMs mentioned how neat they thought they were. I know it doesn't really answer your question as it's only one person's experience, but....I thought it might help.

I'm not sure, but I think that you can use the images as long as you aren't selling them....???

My friend had the Disney embroidery machine and she had to sign an agreement that she wouldn't sell anything with the licensed Disney designs on it. She has made some really nice gifts for myself and a few of her Disney crazy friends.

I had suggested we do something for the MVMCP. I wanted to go kitschy but she wanted to go more classy. She won out. We are making black buttoned sweatshirts with a machine embroidered holly design down the front and around the back. We're making hidden Mickey's (using jewels) out of the berries. ( got my kitsch in)

Hi, I was thinking of making tshirts for my DD and I to wear.

I was going to sponge Mickey ears in red and green on white tshirts to wear to MVMCP. They sell those "magic" sponges that are flat when you cut or shape them and puff up as a sponge when you add water. I was going to just cut the mickey:earsboy: ears out.
