I want to know about Trails End

http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_teb.htm here is a link to the menu. we have eaten dinner there and it is well worth the effort to get to fort wilderness. very good! it is an easy walk from the lodge or a nice boat ride. the fried chicken is the same served at the HDD. we are having breakfast there in september.:p

thanks for the thread bluefairy!

we are going in november and, after having missed trail's end on our last two trips, are determined to make it there this time!

menu looks great, can't wait to get there!

We went there for lunch and my family loved it. They said it was some of the best macaroni and cheese that they had ever had. The meal includes your beverage which for my daughter was apple juice. It was a great deal.

IMHO, it is the best deal at WDW for food. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner there many times and have never been disappointed. It is my family's favorite restaurant on property.

:D

Hi is it very far from the Wilderness Lodge to Trails End - walking ?
Thanks Michelle

They have the best french toast on property! It has cinnamon sugar on the caked on the crusts...I am getting hungry just thinking about it! We love it there and have gone from the CR just for the french toast before!

The exercise trail connects WL and FW and it is about a mile long. You can also take the little launch that makes the FW-WL-CR route or the larger launch that runs from MK-WL-FW (though it sometimes goes the other way).

If you are going for dinner, just be aware that the exercise trail is not lighted.

Thanks very much camping corgi ! we will keep that in mind and hitch a ride back after supper ! Michelle

The food is good ole comfort food..Fried chicken(wonderful) mac and cheese, different carved meats(including Buffalo!)great salads and an otherwise great variety. The service is excellent as well.

This past May, my family went there for dinner. After being let off the bus in a horrible florida downpour(complete with thunder and lightening), we ran the block or so to the Trails End. Of course we were all dripping wet. We tried drying off using the dryers in the bathrooms before headed to the resturant, but we were still soaked to the bone when we arrived. Of course the resturant was heavily air conditioned. Our hostess took off her jacket and put it around my 7 year old daughter and the manager soon appeared with towels for us to dry off with.

Trails end must be the best kept secret at WDW because it is never crowded and the food is excellent. I am sure being a little out of the way helps, but, believe me, it is worth the boat ride from MK after a long day at the park!

A side note: for those who have attended the Hoop dee do, and loved the food, I believe that Trails End shares their kitchen, because the chicken is exactly the same!

Good luck!

Trail's End is such a favorite of our family. It is such comfortable, down home, relaxing atmosphere and good food. I can't imagine a trip to WDW without dining at TE at least once. The buffet is limited so you need to be prepared for that. Breakfast is our favorite meal there.

And we didn't have to pay extra for OJ and chocolate milk for breakfast and we drank a lot of it!

Wow. This sounds really great. I will definitely put it down for a meal. We will have some downtime when it would be fun to go to FW. This would be perfect. Thanks.

My family and I eat at Trail's End several times each vacation. The price is right and the food is great. I love the fried chicken and my husband enjoys the ribs. I also love the salad bar! There's a good variety of food, chicken, pizza, pasta, carving station, dessert, etc.

We ate at Trails End for the first time this June for Breakfast. It was wonderful. Looking forward to trying lunch next time around.

what do you mean the buffet is limited?
Can you only make 1 or 2 trips?
I'm asking b/c some of the kids are funny eaters and will put 2-3 things on there plate and eat most of it but will want to go back for say mac and cheese. I just want to know what to expect when I go so I can keep the kids posted.

Trails End is a restaurant at Fort Wilderness Campground. I think what they mean by limited is that it has a shorter menu than most Disney buffets. wdwig.com has menus, and it appears that the list of food items is much shorter than say at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace, for instance.

Thanks Bluefairy.
I must say all the things on the menu look really good though:D :D
