"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

Thanks for your vote!

Awesome! Now you know what I'll be wearing! I will of course be sporting my Lime Green Mickey Head with my DIS name on it as well.

We will have to say "How do you do" If we run into eachother lol! I too want to sport a LGM but Im haven't figured out how or where? Any tips? lol!

Where are we on the black shorts? lol

Hahahaha...I think we're up to 3 votes.

Absolutely! I love meeting other DISers. The Lime Green Mickey Heads are actually paint sample cards from Home Depot. There is a section of Disney colors and the color for the DIS is Alien Green. What I do is cut out 2 Mickey heads, tape/glue them back to back, write my DIS screen name on both sides and then laminate them. I buy the Scotch brand Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches (I've bought them at Walmart and Target in the office supply sections). They are the perfect size for the Mickey heads! Then, I cut off the excess, punch a hole in the top and attach it to a keychain. The keychain then goes onto my park bag!

Hey thats a great idea!I will totally try that! I was going to buy some material and some iron on transfer stuff and fashion it to my carrier bag. The bag is old and I was going to replace it before going but If I am attatching a LGMH I figured I would use the old bag lol!

Hi! I vote denim shorts for Maddie. And I think that's AWESOME how early you'll be getting into Orlando! YAY!!! I can't wait for your EMH at AK either. I also love seeing my PhotoPass pics around dusk in the MK...I can't wait to see how the tree looks with that kind of lighting!

It's really easy to make!

Another denim vote....very popular. I love getting those early non-stop flights. It is awesome! I can't wait to see how the Tree of Life looks at night too. Probably gorgeous as usual! :goodvibes

Geez, I seriously learn something about Disney or DIS-ing everytime I read your PTR!
That is so neat about the Lime Green Mickeys - I know I'll be eyeing everyone's bags in the parks now, and my family will be looking at me like I'm crazy (or crazier than usual) :rotfl:

Love your plans for AK! I'd go with the jean shorts. As for your outfits, you have so many cute tops! What great taste :goodvibes

So glad that I can pass on my Disney/DIS knowledge with my readers. I have learned SO much from these boards and I'm so very grateful.

I've never seen a LGMH while at the parks, but I've met a few DISers!

Thanks! We enjoy AK, but we're never there very long. Hopefully we'll get to take more in at night when it's not so hot. I'm leaning towards the jean shorts, but I guess everyone will have to wait for the TR to see what she wears! I have a bit of a shopping obsession and I've been on a flowy top kick since my trip last year. They were so comfy!

FYI: Disney went ahead and changed some parks hours. At first I was thinking I was going to have to change everything around, but I don't. They added a few hours here and there at MK which then added another MSEP. We might get to see it!!! Also, DHS extended some hours and added a second showing of Fantasmic on the nights it was already scheduled. Good to know that if the first show is too packed, we can just wait until the 2nd one. We've never seen it!!

Uhg I hate how they did that It has messed up a few of our plans, but it has helped in some places too :wizard: It is impossible to change any of my ADRs and get the same places. All Character meals are fullybooked The whole week we are there excet i think there were a few seatings left at tusker house(the times werent great though)

We are going to be in the same park on two days! AK - 22nd & MK - 23rd.
Maybe I'll see u & get to :wave2:. I think it's going to be interesting & fun to see if I see anyone from the PTR's!

Thankfully, it hasn't affected any of our ADR's. The double Fantasmic should work out to our advantage. If the first show is too packed, we can just wait for the 2nd one. I'm sure everything is booked up pretty solid due to free dining. I'd keep checking because you never know what may open up. I was able to grab ADR's for Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier 5 days before we left for our June trip last year!

Awesome! I'll definately be keeping my eyes peeled for other DISers. I should be easy to find because everyone that reads my PTR will know what I'm wearing!

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN 30 DAYS!!!!!!
:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:

This is what our first countdown link said today:

"The Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971. Admission was $3.50 for adults, $2.50 for kids 12-17 and $1 for kids 3-11." Now, back then they used vouchers for certain rides, but I didn't think Madison would be interested in that fact.

Ok, now that that's out of my system, let's move onto Day 2 Plans (and outfits).

Day 2 - Sept 23rd

Today is AM EMH at MK from 8-9am, so that is where we'll be headed. This worked out great for us last June because by 9 am, we had pretty much finished up Fantasyland. A little before 9am, we stationed ourselves by the rope drop for Tomorrowland (Space Mtn was closed so Tomorrowland wasn't open for EMH) and went right for Buzz Lightyear. This will be our only chance to ride the Mad Tea Party. It's closing for refurbishment on Sept 26th which is our next MK day.

We have an ADR at Chef Mickey's for 10:30am and I'm thinking about walking over to the Contemporary. It's something Madison and Tony have never done and I haven't done it since I was little. It's such a nice walk! Don't get me wrong....I LOVE riding the Monorail, but with the walk, we won't have to leave the park as early. :goodvibes

After our late breakfast (which is a favorite of ours), we'll most likely head back to Pop. We are fans of the midday break/nap/swim, so that's what we'll do. Back in June I was always the one napping while Tony & Maddie went swimming. Maybe I'll take my naps out by the pool this year. There is something about the noise at pools that just lulls me right to sleep.

After we take our relaxing break, we'll be heading off to DHS that evening. I'd like to leave Pop by 3 or 4pm at the latest. Originally, the park was supposed to close at 8pm with one show of Fantasmic at 8pm. Now, DHS is open until 9:30pm and there is a 2nd showing of Fantasmic at 9:30pm! Perfect! If we miss the first one or it's too crowded, we can just wait for the second show.

Today is the day we will possibly use our first GAD voucher for FP's. We don't have any rope drops or AM EMH planned for DHS (our least fav park but with some of our fav rides), so this might be the only way we'll get to ride TSMM. The vouchers are kind of hard to explain. You can check out this link for more info. Just scroll down to wear it says "What is a Birthday/Give A Day FASTPASS Exchange Card?"

GAD FP explaination

If we don't use our voucher on this DHS evening, we'll use it on our other evening. The main attraction this evening will be Fantasmic. Hopefully we can catch Voyage of the Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast. Madison has never seen either one of these and she never shows any interest in them. :confused3 However, I've never seen Beauty and the Beast and I really want to see it!!!! I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Madison has also never experienced the Backlot Tour and I know that she'll love it. Another thing we loved last June was meeting a whole bunch of characters in the Animation Building. It was great! I'm still on the fence about meeting Lotso. He's so mean!!! We'd also like to try to get in on an animation class too. As far as dinner goes, we'll be doing a CS. Not quite sure which one yet, but we've never done Pizza Planet. We'll pick one based on where we are at the park when we're hungry.

Ok, the moment you've all been waiting for. What are we wearing???

Here is my outfit. I think the palm tree will fit right in with DHS.

Madison's outfit....again, I can't decide on the shorts!!! Just to let you know, the circles on her shirt are yellow not orange. I know most of you must be thinking I'm nuts for even thinking about bringing white shorts to Disney, but Madison is very good about not getting anything on herself (I may have something to do with that....I might be a tad bit crazy about dirt and messes). She could always wear jean shorts though too. Oh the decisions.

Up Next....Day 3 plans

I'd pick the yellow shorts. That way if you wind up doing any wet rides (even the Backlot Tour with Catastrophe Canyon!) you don't have to worry about the white!

:woohoo: for being at 30 days! So excited for you!

Your day 2 plans sound great! I think you will really like the Beauty and the Beast show if you go see it. It's super cute and they do a great job! VotLM is cute too but I like BatB better!

If you see Lotso, give him a swift kick in the leg from me. :rotfl: I did NOT like him and I plan on telling him so if I see him. Why isn't he haning around with the villians???

White shorts. I tend to drop things on myself (coffee, tomato sauce, etc) so...I opt for the yellow. The white looks better to me though in the pic because the design looks orange.

I love your shirt!

$3.50????? :scared1:

Yay for being at the 30 day mark! I think both outfits are so cute! I hope you guys get to see Beauty and the Beast. I finally got a chance to see it in May and loved it. Then again, that was my favorite movie growing up.

That's very true. I'm on the hunt for new yellow shorts. She's had those ones since last year and they are a bit faded. :sad1:

30 days does sounds so awesome!!!

I haven't seen VOTLM in SOOO long! It's a nice escape from the heat though.

The only reason I want to see Lotso is because he looks so furry and cuddly....so deceiving!!!

I don't think Madison has ever ruined a piece of clothing (remember she has a pyscho mom). Even when she was a baby, I was constantly wiping her face and hands. I promise, the circles are yellow!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! I love that shirt too. It's kind of semi-sheer, but I have a bandeau top to wear under it.

Can you believe the old admissions prices?! Here's the excerpt from "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World" that I got the info from:

Admission into the park in 1971 was $3.50 for adults, $2.30 ages twelve to seventeen, and $1 ages three to eleven. Unlike today, guests then had a choice of two attraction tickets: an Adult 7-Attractions booklet ran $4.75. For an additional $1, adults could get an 11-Attractions booklet. Coupons allowed for one ride per coupon, from A-rides (such as Main Street Vehicles and Cinderella's Golden Carrousel) to E-rides (state-of-the-art attractions such as Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, Jungle Cruise, and It's a Small World".

My mom first went to WDW in 1973 and remember the ride coupons. You really had to pick and choose what you wanted to ride because you only had to many coupons. Crazy!

I can't believe I'm at 30 days already. This summer has been flying by! I feel like I just made all of my ADR's and that was back in March!!!

Thanks! I had a lot of fun picking out all of our outfits.

I adore Beauty and the Beast and it's still one of my favorite movies. Besides, I love musicals!!!

They totally passed off Lotso as a good guy when the trailers for TS3 came out! He was probably a popular character for photo ops before the movie came out. Not too sure if he is anymore! He was SO mean!!!!!

I remember reading about the E-tickets. They came out with the hopper pass not all that long ago. True to Disney form since the park opened the admission prices kept going up, up, up.

Hooray for 30 days! :cheer2:

You should definitely plan on the Beauty and the Beast show for this trip. I think you'll love it!

Well I voted for the black shorts for day1, so I'd pick the denim for day 2! :goodvibes

I remember the individual attraction tickets! I must be older than I look  :rolleyes1

30 days~...you dirty dog!! LOL
I like the outfits...I kinda like the yellow shorts..but it's hard to tell...as far as Lotso..whatta creep!! I even bought one of the small toys of him for my nephews bday before the movie was out... I wish now that I hadn't bought him. Love the daily fact!!:worship:

They totally passed him off as a good guy. I wish they would add another character with Lotso...like my fav...Mr. Pricklepants!!!! He is adorable!!!

I remember when all tickets were hoppers and never expired. Then they changed them to Magic Your Way with all the different add-ons.

Hooray for 30 days! :cheer2:

Beauty and the Beast is on the list of must-dos. Even though it's Madison's birthday trip we are doing it. She turned it down on my birthday trip, so now we have to see it.

Hahaha....she has a few pairs of denim shorts so we'll just have to wait and see.

It's so strange to me that they used to have individual attraction tickets. That reminds me of a carnival or something.

I am so excited for 30 days!!!! I like the yellow shorts too, I'm just afraid they might not fit her too well next month.

Lotso is a big meanie....why dose he have to be so cuddly?

I'm a huge fan of daily facts. It keeps things really fun. Spoiler alert!!! The next few days are all about the opening days of the other parks.
