I want to give a shoutout the the lost and found at Disney!

Last year, I managed to leave my camera on a bench at DHS and after a couple of hours, it found its way to lost and found. I was thrilled and impressed. I really like the idea of taking a picture of my KTTW.

We just returned a trip to Disneyland where I left my Minnie ears from DL Paris on BTM. It was my BIL's first Disney experience and he was certain that I would never see my ears again. Now only did I get my ears back, but BIL was really happy when he got back his special autographed hat that he left on Indiana Jones later that afternoon. We kept telling him that Disney was magical - I think he's starting to believe.

We read all of these stories of how most of us got our stuff back after losing it at a Disney property. Now I know that many of these things are found by CM's while sweeping up at the end of the night, but it's nice to know that other guests are good people and have an appreciation for some kind of unwritten rule to help their fellow guests feel good after they are devastated by losing something at Disney that is very important to them. Bravo to you if you ever picked up lost property and gave it to a CM.

A couple of years ago at TL I was in the Guest Relations Office and one of the lifeguard cordinators brought in a very soggy wallet that had been found in the wave pool. Per procedures he brought it to us without haveing looked in it.

We found a driver's license and over $1,200 in cash in it. Managers were contacted and as an exception to policy the owner was paged over the Park's PA system to report to Guest Relations.

When he arrived he had no idea why he had been paged. It turns out he had thought that his wife had the wallet, but it had been in a back pocket of his swim trunks and knocked out by a wave.

So we were able to return his wallet and money to him even before he knew it was missing.

I'm so glad she was able to get her Nemo home safe and sound! Hopefully it didn't spoil her fun too much!

We also had a great experience with the L&F at WDW-- DD left a new Minnin Mouse red visor in a restroom at AK- close to park closing- we thought it was gone- checked with CMs they said to go to the main lost andfound the next day by the T&TC -- we did - walked in described the hat to the Cm he came back out wiht it in about 30 sec! amazing! she was so happy!

Wow what great stories! Just think of the amount of stuff that goes to the lost and found in te parks... That has to be a big undertaking.

At DLR, my cell phone fell out of my pocket while I was on ToT.

I didn't realize I had lost it until I got back to my hotel room(I was staying at Disneyland Hotel). I sort of panicked and started calling my phone from the hotel phone, ignoring the fact that I was being charged for every call! :headache:

Finally we went to the front desk of the hotel and they immediately called Lost and Found. Within minutes they told us they had our phone! I laughed and jokingly said to them, "I find this out AFTER I get charged for calling it from the hotel phone!" The front desk felt bad and gave me a voucher for a free shirt at the gift shop! I was shocked! And of course very appreciative.

When I got to lost and found the CM was so friendly and chatty. He asked where I was from and I told him I had just graduated. When he found out I wanted to work for Disney, he started telling me all about his experience as a CM and giving me advice for the best way to get in. He obviously loved his job. :goodvibes Couldn't have had a better experience!

One of the best experiences we had this past trip was from lost and found in Disney. DS left his hat on Expedition Everest. By the time we got back to check on it at the park's lost and found, it had been sent on to the TTC. We waited a couple of days. When we did go to lost and found, we described the hat, where it was left, and explained that our son's name was in it. It took about 3 minutes in that massive area of lost items for them to bring it back to us.

I have a very similar story, lost my camera in the park and I was upset about the camera but also the pictures that couldnt be replaced. I called Lost and Found not really expecting to have a positive outcome but they had the camera and mailed it to me on their dime. They were so helpful and it meant a great deal to me.:thumbsup2

Wow, I love hearing all these stories! It's good to know there are still nice people - and wonderful CMs, and an obviously wonderful Lost & Found policy/department! I have never lost anything there - yet! - but maybe now if I did, after hearing such wonderful experiences, I wouldn't be quite so panicky!

Disney lost and found is indeed the best! So are those amazing people who are kind enough to turn in lost belongings and not keep them for themselves!!!:goodvibes

In 2008, my WONDERFUL and RESPONSIBLE (:rolleyes1;)) sister lost our video camera (after, of course, swearing up and down that she was NOT the last one to have it). After quite a stressful half hour or so tearing our room apart, we called lost and found in one last desperate attempt. Guess what they had? Our camera!:worship: Guess what the last thing was that was taped AND GUESS WHO WAS THE PERSON TAPING!? ... :headache::hug:

We were at Epcot a while ago, and spent the whole day there, going from shop to shop, ending the night with a great show of Illuminations. On the way back to our hotel, I stopped at a store to pick up some things, and realized that I didn't have my debit card OR my drivers license :scared1:!! When we got to the hotel, I emptied out the car, the kids bags, my bags - nothing. I was freaking out! My sister and I recreated the day, and identified when was the last time I used my card. I was stupidly in a hurry to get my beer and sodas from the stand outside Rose and Crown, and as I placed my order, the fireworks started, so I bolted as soon as I had them in my hands back to where my family was.

The next morning I was at the Lost and Found when they opened, and told the woman at the desk what I did, and she went in the back and brought me my card and my drivers license - I've never been so relieved in my life! Hooray for Disney!!!
