Awwwww.thank you...I am now gonna start blushing...I better get back to the DB...where I can get beat down a bit!

No kidding there...I usually stand back, watch and learn....I may know a bit about some things, but I just wish I was as political savvy as she is! I listen to Rush and Neal Boortz everyday but I still can't seem to phrase anything as well as she can!
There isn't any reason you cannot continue to have pedicures and acrylic fills on your nails. And, no, she doesn't need to do anything differently because you are pregnant. But, depending on the ventilation in the salon, you may find the fumes (from the acrylic liquid) make you queasy. If so, take a break and get some fresh air. Pregnant or not, there isn't proper ventilation if the fumes are overpowering in a salon where acrylic nails are done.I've heard rumor that I have to tell her that I'm pregnant beause it effects the way that she does her job but I really don't want to if I don't have to.

I've always wanted one but I am waaay to ticklish to have someone touching me feet.![]()
Also, NEVER allow anyone to use a 'cheese grater' type of metal implement to get rid of your callouses.
They ARE in most states (use by nail techs, you can buy them though). Maybe all states now...I'm not sure. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I have heard the same story more than a few times. In PA and most other states, salon owners will be fined for even having them on the premises. I remember in school they pretty much summed it up as: "Credo blades (the name of the grater) are no different than scalpels, unless you are licensed to do so, you have NO business performing surgery on your clients"I really think those grater things should be outlawed!

They don't touch them in a ticklish way. More a massaging way. I also think if tell them your very ticklish they will be more careful.
They are fantastic. I plan to treat myself to one before this July vacation!

I find that people who have ticklish feet need a firmer touch during the massage and a towel between my hands and their toes during clipping, filing and polishing to overcome the ticklishness. I have NEVER had a ticklish client who had a problem beyond the first 2-3 minutes of the pedicure. They usually refer me to anyone they know who has expressed a 'tickle' problem.

Sherry I am the same way but they dont really end up tickling to much. They are great. I always get the spa pedicure so I can soak awhile and have my legs and feet massaged. Its great!
