I'm new and don't know many people so I'm afraid...will it be good? will I entertain? can I come up with witty titles??

Should I do it?

LOL you sound like me. We've been to Disney 3x and I always want to do a TR but always think we're just not interesting enough. :rotfl: Well not only that but I really don't have the time to devote to it and I hate when people stretch them out for months on end.

I have a lot of downtime at work right now so for my PTR I think I'd be able to keep up with it pretty well! Plus I don't have any kids yet....

If you want to write it, do it. Even if it's just for yourself. The worst that can happen is no one reads it, but at least you'll have written one and can use that experience to better your writing style for next time :).

As far as momtoBrandon&Jacob is concerned, you could write it mostly ahead of time in Word or some other word processing program and post from there (copy, paste, format) once completed as well ;), that would help you keep up with it on your own time without stretching it out.

If you have the desire to share your experience, there's no sense holding it in ;).

I am not that witty when it comes to my TR's, but I love writing them. It gives me a great "written history", so to speak, of my trip. So I can go back and read it and relive it later!
I love the details and the thoughts people include in their reports - every view is different.

I say GO FOR IT!!!:thumbsup2
(heck, not many people read mine:confused3, but that doesn't matter)

I say go for it! :cheer2: Do it because you want to. Do it because it's a good way of preserving memories. Someone somewhere will enjoy reading it, we are all different and enjoy different styles of writing.
Enjoy it! :wave2:

I know how you feel and I'm the same way. I've been wanting to do one for a long time, but being fairly new here and knowing no one by name I was a bit afraid. I finally bit the bullet last night and began writing mine. Just as I feared though no one is reading/responding on mine yet, but oh well, it's fun for me just to write it and relive that fun experience and hopefully by the end I'll have at least one reader. If not then at least I had fun doing it.

I say do it too! TRs are a lot of fun. I don't have kids yet either and I still write them.

Go for it.
You have to remember, there are a lot of lurkers on the
pretrip and regular boards.
Someone made fun of my post count, because I said
I was a lurker-but most of those posts are from the
John&KatePlus 8 thread:rotfl:
just kidding.
But I am a huge reader, and I should comment more,
but you have to remember, we can't change the outcome
of a trip report, we just sit back and relax and read.
If there was some kind of party going on in my real life,
I would be the one listening intently and be very interested.

I actually preffer the TRs with no kids or at least not younger kids b/c I feel I can relate to them more.

No kids in my last report!
I relate, cause I don't have any either - except for my niece!

Go ahead and write one! I wrote (well, started) 2 or 3 PTRs, and another 2 (at least) TRs before I really started to get regular readers. Mostly, I think I got readers because I posted a lot on other people's reports, and put a link to mine in my signature. My last TR was over 20 pages when it was done (compared to the first one, that was barely 5 pages and almost all my own ramblings). You'll never get to know people until you start posting, so you might as well start with your own reports. :)

Go ahead and write one! :) I just started my first PTR a few weeks ago and I was worried about some of the same things. Not too many people are following but I'm having fun with it. For me, the PTR is a way to pass the time leading up to our trip and the TR will be a way to relive the magic once we've left.

Plus, I know there were a lot of trip reports I was a lurker for before I started posting on the boards. I enjoyed reading them, but I never felt like I had anything to add to the conversation. Now, I know that I should post just to let people know that I'm along for the ride!

Go ahead! You have nothing to lose! They are fun and you end up with a great "journal" of your trip. I am in the middle of my first one and am having a blast and "meeting" lots of super nice people both with kids and without!

I'm in. Just like you I am new to this. I did a Pre-Trip report for our trip last year and you could basically say it failed. :confused3 Oh well. So, I am trying again for this trip. It can only get better, right?

Can't wait to hear your plans................

I just finished my first Trip Report. It took me two months, but I did it. I am really glad that I did. Because it was a great way to relive all the fun memories. I want to now print the report out with the pictures, and make it into a scrapbook of our trip.
My husband and kids have enjoyed reading it, too.
Just make sure to take notes while you are there. There was alot of stuff that I had forgot about until I read through my notes.
Go For It ! :thumbsup2
