I want to be under 200 pounds...Anyone else??

Congrats Wendy! I'm about 7 lbs. behind you. My birthday is Sept 18th, but I really doubt I'll get to 199 by then, although what a present that would be. This is #40 for me. DH & I are going to WDW and Daytona Biketober fest the week of 10/15 though (with two other couples). I'd be over the moon if I was at goal by then. That's 12 weeks to lose 16.8 lbs. It'll be tough, but if I exercise (HA) I can get there...

You can get there Cyndi! Exercise is my issue. The dieting is fine, but getting that heart up and pumping is another issue. I will send some extra energy over to you to help with that!

DH is going to give me a princess tea party with my friends when I get to 199. We are tenatively planning on Oct 21st. So, I will work on it, and we will get there together by 10/15!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

It will be a great way to end the year!

Great losses!

wow, just a few weeks ago I was 242 and now I am 228. (5'6") Hey , I'm happy.! :thumbsup2 I sometimes think of how much by when (date), but then I just let it go and see what happens. I go to Disneyland end of Aug. If I lose ............anything-- that would be fine with me. I hope to be under 200 by Jan. when I go to Hawaii again to see my new grandaughter! Gotta look somewhat decent in those "grandma and baby grandaughter" photos. :teeth: :teeth:
It is 7am here and 83degrees. I don't like walking in such heat! ick.! Getting out and exercising is hard for me in "poor" conditions. :confused3 :rotfl:
oh well.............keep on losing everyone! :cool1: :thumbsup2

THose of you on WW care to share your secrets on getting your fruit and veggies in every day . I was on WW but struggled with that part. I quit WW and I am now 2 lbs heavier than ever before :guilty: .
So back to WW.

For me, the fruits and veggies are not difficult, but it takes planning. When I grocery shop, I buy lots of both. When I get home, I wash and cut up whatever I need to and place cut-up items in zip locks bags. That way when I'm looking for a snack or running out the door late for work, I just have to grab a couple of baggies and I have my snacks/munchies for the day. It helps that I like fruits and veggies, but preparation is the key for me.

First, congrats, Cyndi and Wendy S! (I'm a Wendy S as well -- small world, huh?)

Man, my training for the DL Half Marathon is going well, but I have struggled with my weight these past 3 weeks -- bouncing up and down inside the same 2-3 lb range. I wanted so much to be below 200 before my 50th birthday (which is just a week before I leave on my first-ever trip to DL on Sept 14th for the half marathon).

I'd all but given up hope until yesterday -- and my first appointment with my nutrition coach. It's a new day! She was very encouraging, and instead of giving me the typical exchange list of "forbidden foods and free foods," she just gave me three simple instructions: 1) stop and compliment yourself on every good choice three times daily ("I drank water instead of diet soda -- good for me!", "I got three servings of veggies in thus far -- good for me!", etc., 2) Use the energy you typically put towards craving and bingeing into creating the most exciting, rewarding, FUN food/lifestyle plan you can dream up, 3) Keep your carbohydrate servings between 11-13/day (carbohydrates, by the way, are in milk, cereals, grains, starches, fruits, juices, and most "combination foods). I should "fill-in" with veggies and protein to help control my hunger.

For this week, that's it -- and I should see a difference in my weight next week. I'm learning a new way to live, so this is expected to be slower going -- not a quick-fix diet that I abandon in a month. I'm learning to be NORMAL! Isn't that GREAT!?!?!?!?!?!

Now, I know at some point I'll need to cut those carbs back down, and I need to keep an eye on the fats, and I need to eat a variety of fruits and veggies. After all, we all pretty much know what we should eat. This week is just about taking those first few baby steps. And I believe I can do this. Here's to posting a loss next week for sure!

The only way I can do it is 1 fruit for breakfast, 1 fruit for snack... and 3 cups of veggies every day (salad) for lunch. If I don't eat salad, I am lost as far as making my 5 veg/fruit per day go.

Man... for the first time in about a month, I have been struggling. Even with a 7 lb. loss this month, I started eating way too much and my weight wasn't moving. I had a loss of 0 this week.

Anyway, it really got me down.

Then, today a guy who hasn't seen me in a couple of weeks came up and asked if I had been working out?!?! He said he noticed a big difference in my face. He said it looked leaner. I told him I had been working at it... and not to come around for another few weeks. :rotfl:

It totally inspired me to keep working hard and get myself back on track. :wizard:

Really? Cool! My initials are wsws....I hyphenated my last name with my hubby's. Wendy really isn't that common of a name. Only knew one in high school, and only knew one while working (she unfortunately passes away recently).

Well ladies, great losses to all! Sounds like we are all doing ok!

Hi all - sorry I haven't checked in for a bit. It's been very wild at work for me and at night I've been extremely busy. I have done really poorly this month. I've gained another 3 pounds since the beginning of the month. I'm very disappointed with myself but part of it is because I haven't been able to get out of work on time to make my workouts and then it's been hard to get there at the later class and do anything at home because I've been busy later in the evening. I'm hoping to really get back to work on this. I feel icky, bloated, icky and just icky. My clothes are tight.

My goal starting July 31 is to lose 15 pounds by Christmas. Then I can concentrate on getting more off after that. But I have to start small (although if I really push it again I can lose 25).

You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work - I'm very proud of all of us for just being here!!!!!!!

Yep, that is me too. I have to have salad at dinner time. Then I usually have carrots or cucumber or celery with either dip or laughing cow cheese(on the celery anyway) at lunch. That is three servings. Fruit with lunch or as a snack and I have a piece of fruit or cherries or whatever in the evening too. If I really get in a bind, I have a glass of orange juice or a glass of V8. The V8 is one point but it does count as a vegie.

After my first week on WW and all of this working out, I finally have a loss. Woohooo! I am down three lbs. I have been stuck at this weight for like a year and even just a little bit down is very thrilling.

Now, I just need to figure out how I am going to stick with it on vacation this weekend. I was not going to bring much food and just wing it but I realized while typing about the whole vegetable thing that if I don't plan for success it is going to be a problem.

Two weeks later I'm down another 6 pounds. 56 so far. Still a long way from 200, but I just gotta stick with it. This thread has helped me alot. :cool1:

Saturdays are my downfall even though I have been losing at a good pace. We eat out for lunch and dinner and my choices aren't the best on those days. We had Cheeseburgers in Paradise (For Me) and Hooters (For my wife)this past Saturday so as you can see I was really bad.

Keep up the great work everyone! :cheer2:

Yeah... we struggle on the weekend too. We usually eat out both days :guilty: If it weren't for the weekend, I'd be skinny by now. :rotfl:

:guilty:
Went up .8 this week. That much longer until 199.
:sad2:

Cheer up!!! You might just be holding water or something... that's not huge at all :)

I didn't lose any last week but was down a pound this morning. That is 8 total!!!

I was up .8 one week and then went in and lost over 2 pounds the next! I know it is frustrating when that happens!! Just don't forget to keep your eye on the goal like this week! It's been a rough week for me. I think I threw my back out or something. Whatever it is has been extremely painful! :sad2: And I have let myself get off track because of it. I didn't go to my meeting today because my medication makes me drowzy. I should have just pressed on in spite of everything but I let it get me off course!! I am determined not to do that this coming week!! Here is to being back on the program!! :thumbsup2 Good luck!!!

Hang in there, Cyndi, you've done GREAT overall. And sorry about your back, Blue eyes!

Finally I can post a loss! I lost 2.8 pounds -- and I ate pizza yesterday. I've been tracking portions very carefully and writing down everything (including exercise) and I am seeing some results. This weekend we'll be going to the mountains for a hiking trip with my DH's co-workers, so I should be able to get in lots of exercise (just hope we don't make a bad restaurant choice afterwards!)

Keep going everyone! I'm so glad you're here!

Hello all.

Sounds like we are a mixed batch this week. I did so well these previous 2 weeks, I am sure that when I WI on Sunday, I will have gone backwards. It seems like that. And in this heat and humidity, I really swell. Still watching my diet, but did fall off the truck when I helped DD make choc chip cookies the other day. I try to convince myself it's not so bad because I share the cookie with the dog. Yeah, right! :rotfl2:

I hear reality calling, so I had better go!

Hi
Well, I didn't go to WW last night because of my back pain, but I will be returning next week! I have been looking on the Dining section of the DIS today to call in my ADR's! All that food looks sooooo yummy!! This is a little off topic, but what is a must do meal for you?? One that you cannot miss while at Disney?? I have one more table service and several more counter service (although the counter service ones are not that big of a deal).

My mom and I attend WW together and she told me a story today that the leader told at the meeting last night. It was a story about a woman who was doing her dishes and broke one. So she went ahead and broke every other dish in the house!! This relates to weight loss because if you have one cookie..how much sense does it make to go and eat every other cookie you can get your hands on??? Just because you ate the first one?? I have trouble with "Well, I've already blown it so I might as well have another, then another" But that story kind of makes sense to me!!

Have a good weekend everyone!! :grouphug: Good luck!!! :cheer2:
