We go to Disney alot like all on these boards and each time I go the crowds seem to get bigger and bigger and I just can't take it!! I am beginning to plan our family trip for November 5th to the 14th in the hopes of actually witnessing lesser crowds. I am even taking my 7th, 6th and 2nd grader out of school for 3 days. It would just be soooo nice not to be fighting the crowds everywhere in the parks!(Don't get me wrong any day in Disney is a great day!!!)but wouldn't it be nice?

So my dream is to be walking down Main Street all alone with my family enjoying my surroundings and hanging out with Mickey!!!

Close your eyes, can't ya just picture it now?(except with your family)

Sounds good to me.. walking down Main Street, just us.. I can picture it.. thanks for making me smile tonight. :D

We went the first week in November a couple of years ago, ok maybe 4 years ago, and we were the only group walking down Main Street. I remember walking under the railroad, into the park and seeing Alice in front of the Emporium. All by herself just waiting for us! It was very cool!!
Good luck!

Simba-It was just the best. We get off the bus, my friend and I, and I am all excited and weepy (SUCH a dork!) She grabs my arm and says to me, "ok, I know it's not the REAL DisneyLand, but I'm so excited!!" We then start skipping like 5 year olds up to the entrance gate. You see, the REAL Disney park is in California, well at least to us, we grew up in San Diego and went every year for like ever....WDW does grow on ya tho, LOL! Have fun planning, you will not regret going an 'off' time. Shorter park hours, but low crowds. Except of course MK on a Saturday, man I have never ever in my life seen that many people in one place. It was amazing!

Simba, I can appreciate your desire for lower crowds, but you're putting yourself into the thick of it. You should back your trip up a week (15th-19th) if you're looking for lower crowds. You're thinking of going during Jersey Week, possible Super Soap weekend, F&WF, and Veteran's Day - the corwds won't be light, to say the least.

Well I hate to be the one to tell you this but, I don't think you'll get that dream fufilled that week in Nov.

That is Jersey week, and the crowds from Vet's day. It will be busy. If you could it would be a better idea to go the 14th-21st. We usually go then, the week before Thanksgiving and the crowds are very managable and really no lines. This past year was alittle busier than usual but still no where near as crowded as the summer. From past discussions here, the beginning of Dec. seems to be a slow time but, cooler weather.

I also absolutely hate crowds. When people here say oh, it wasn't crowded that day, if I was there the same day I would think it was crowded!! To me it is crowded not only if the lines are long, I just can't stand the crowds just to try and walk from 1 spot to another! I also look to go when there is no crowds and have to take DD out of school.

It happened to us - we were there after an e-night in January 2002. It was pretty cold and the e-night was not well attended. The people who were there had thinned out - it was the end of the evening. We had stayed to watch the good night kiss and as we started down Main Street from the castle we realized there was only our family and one other family making a total of eight people. It was pure magic. Main Street was lit up with the Christmas decorations spanning the street and no crowd. When we neared the bakery, a cast member opened the door and invited us in for hot chocolate. We and the other family, who we did not know, sat in the bakery enjoying pastries and hot chocolate and coffee. They told us to take our time. A few people with brooms started sweeping Main Street. We left the bakery and headed for the exit. But before we left, we took time to savor the moment of no crowd. We stopped and looked back down Main Street towards the castle knowing that this would never happen again!!!! It was great.

I have had the good fortune to vist WDW over 300 times since 1973 and I have experiences the best and the worst of the crowds.

We have been the very last family in the Magic Kingdom and walked down Main Street all alone.

**** Interesting note: It is Disney Policy not to "force" people out of the park after closing. We were in Frontierland when the park closed and having two strollers with sleeping kids and two very tired adults, we were not walking very fast. As we walked, I noticed two "ties" (Management CM's) following about 100 feet behind. They were walking from the back of the park to the front making sure the park was empty. They never once rushed us and even stopped when my wife had to use the bathroom to change our baby. (That's when they told me the policy of not rushing any guest out.) By the time we left the park it was 1:15am the park had "officially" closed at 12:00.

We were also the only people on the Monorail to the Polynesian.

The most people we have seen was on New Years Eve 1999/2000 on Main Street. A "sea" of people. We did not leave the park until almost 1:45am that night with a few thousand others.

Does anyone know the exact days of Jersey week. Cause I will change to the following week.

Thanks

Simba -

Have faith it can be done, sort of. We went in Nov. (10-14, 03) and I have a picture of my daughter in front of the castle - ALL BY HERSELF. Not one other sole in the picture. We managed that by having one of the first ressie for Cindy's that morning. People were in the park, just not that many and none in my picture. It is my most favorite.

We have managed to be the only family walking down main street a time or two. Usually late at night or early in the morning is a good chance. If you go during a low season week, and especially if it is rainy and cold, you have a good chance of low crowds. The best time for us was the first week of February, middle of the week, cold and rainy day at Disneyland. Not a soul in sight. We have picture after picture of us with absolutely no one else on the street, on the ride, whatever!

Desnik...Thanks for the info on all 3 posts regarding crowds in Nov. My DH has agreed to go the following week in Nov. So our trip will start after Veteran's Day.

Thanks....

Yeah!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Good for you. I'm glad that worked out for you and your very welcome for the info! I love to help other Disers!!! Now just remember to wear a lime green ribbon so I can spot you. We will be there the same time. I will be most likely staying at the BW again. We just love it there. The Lime green ribbon will be on my stroller!! I'll probably be chasing after my DD yelling her name "Destiny!!!" She's a bit of a free spirit:crazy:

Darn, I was at that E-night! It was freezing. My dream is to be the last one out of a park some night. Sounds like I should have stuck it out that night instead of being a wimp. I did get to be one of the last ones (if not THE last) leaving AK one night. There are so many little paths to hide in. But some suit came along behind me and blocked my return to one of the paths! Spoil sport! I'll keep trying, though.

We were by ourselves in many places two weeks after 9/11. It wasn't fun. You need some crowds to enjoy the parks.

Right after school starts in September is a great time to go.

Jersey Week isn't THAT terrible. Don't go to MK on the weekend if you can help it. Go on a weekday.

Schedual an Early Cinderella breakfast before opening. They let you in before everyone else before your breakfast and hardly nobody if anybody is on main st. When we went in 2001, they were just starting the little firetruck trolly that holds maybe 6 people and we were given a ride just the 3 of us up Main St.

Good luck
