Thinking of staying on site for a few days. This will be our anniversary trip. I want to stay in a nice room at one of the resorts. Which is the nicest?
There will just be the 2 of us. What type of room should we get?
What are extras that we need to know about....romantic and relaxing?

We stayed at Portofino Bay and the Hard Rock Hotel. P.B. is lovely. You will find that absolutely the nicest. Very romantic and very relaxing. HRH tends to be more families then just couples. :sunny:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

Happy Anniversary! I would second that on PBH! It is romantic, lovely rooms and just relaxing! RPH is nice but PBH just has that extra little something IMHO.

Have a wonderful time!

I agree - Portofino Bay for luxury and pampering. It is really quite lovely. I've stayed at all three hotels at Universal and PBH is the place for romance and luxury.

Enjoy!

DH and I did a "no kid" trip to the PBH back in July. Very romantic. Bring props.

Room - at least the bay view. A Villa Parlor and king bedroom would be very romantic with the balcony and all. You can even get a 24 hour butler.
Extras- Mandara Spa treatment. Hillside pool (quiet). Venture over to RPR for dinner at Tchoup Chop.
Rent a cabana and chill by the pool.

Dh said that he could have stayed at PBH for 5-days without ever setting foot in any of the parks... it was that nice. We kept talking about an adults-only vacation while we were there. We booked a standard room and were upgraded to a deluxe with our Loews card.

Make sure to tell them that it is your anniversary at check in. We told them that we were celebrating our DS's 11th birthday and they sent 2 desserts to the room with a birthday card from the front desk.

Definitely eat at Tschop Chop and tell them it's your anniversary, too. They took extra special care of our DS. He wanted to sit by the pool in the center of the restaurant so he could put his hands in it. The waitress asked if he wanted her to get him a glass of water out of the pool for our table. He said yes, and we got a picture of her filling the glass.

The Palm, in the HRH is also a very nice dining choice. Book before you go, though. We left Sunday open as our "we'll see what we want to do that night" dinner. When we had decided to go to Emeril's on CW, the first available table was at 10:00 p.m. That didn't fit in with the kids' schedules, so we had catch as catch can.
