How do I do that? I'm currently an Architectural Engineering major with some experience in Computer Graphics. Should I just send in my resume? Do they have internships? Do they take people out-of-state? Thanks!

I have no idea... just bumping in hope someone can help :)

Don't we all??

It's tough. I talked to one of them once. He said you have to start low. The college program definitely help (and you sort of get promoted into the engineer position). Once in a while there may be a position open to public. Or experience with animation will definitely help.

I'd suggest you write a letter to.....

Mr. Marty Sklar
Vice Chairman & Principal Creative Executive
Walt Disney Imagineering
1401 Flower Street
Glendale, CA 91221

If you express your interest and background well enough......you may well get a response! :)

Best of luck to you!

Imagineering is a wonderful career! :):):)

Hope to see you often, good luck in your quest.

so does my 14 yr old dd! where does she start, as far as college, etc?

They do have thousands of resumes on their database but who knows, it definitely wouldn't hurt to try. There are people working at Disney Imagineering with College degrees and some though I'm sure there are few, without high school diplomas. Your talent is everything. Of course you start at the bottom and work your way up. I remember reading about an imagineer who said when he first started working for Disney Imagineering, he envisioned himself working on big projects from the start and was quite surprised to have a coordinator hand him a duster and tell him to go dust the epcot models, hehehe
Good-luck and tell us how you do.
I do believe there is an internship program, or atleast there use to be.

I forgot..... Mona, you daughter should find an area she is really passionate about and work from there. Because there are no "imagineering" courses. Imagineers consist of, electricians, painters, sculptors, engineers, designers, the list goes on and on.
And whatever she does, be the best at it!

Thanks for all the replys. I'll start off scrubbing toilets if thats what it takes. ;) I'll do some checking with all this information and see what I can come up with.

OOh I want to be one too! I was an architecture student wanting to be an Imagineer (but thinking about changing my major) when I went on the college program. I went to a seminar about Imagineering and was most surprised about what DisneyJules said-- they're not just engineers. They also said that they're not as big about hiring from within as most people think, that they do sometimes hire people straight out of college (they must have really impressive portfolios, I'm thinking?)

I would definitely start with the college program. After you do that, you are eligible for a number of internships that require a college program "degree." Of course I don't know specifically about the Imagineering internships, but that info should be on Dan's link (at least the last time I looked, which was a few years ago).
