i want to ask my aunt for a date

I had a friend who's Father and Mother in Law started dating, He was widowed and she was divorced. At least he had one less place to visit during the Holidays.

When I was about 12 (I am 27 now) my divorced mom started dating her sister's husband's nephew. No blood relation. They got married about 8 years ago and have been very happy ever since. She never had much contact with him before they started dating so even though they were kind-of related, by marriage, they weren't "family." IMO there is family and people you are related to, being one does not necessarily make you the other.

It was never weird for me. Even though I have first cousin's on my mom's side who are first cousin's of my step dad on their dad's side.

I have heard a lot of stories about brothers marrying sisters, etc and I don't really see how this is any different.

OP, I definitely don't think you should be her "rebound" guy and you should get some input from other family members before you proceed, but I don't think this is entirely a bad idea.

What is your relationship with her now? Is she a close relative or do you only see her a few times a year. I think that makes a big difference. There's a big difference is dating "family" and dating someone your uncle happened to be married to that you rarely saw.

Oh, and "I make more money than you so I am right" is NEVER a good argument

im a factory worker. but i probaly make more than most of you. 26.21 an hour. when bush was in office two years i made over 100 most of the time it was in the 90's. since obama has been in it its been in the 80's alot less overtime. so what is wrong with my grammar is it because i dont captialize my i's?

Not more tha...oh never mind(but that is beside the point). But, I didn't ask you how much you made. I asked you what you did for a living. Just curious if your occupation required a college education. It's not just your lack of capitalization. The words you use remind me of something my 15 year old babysitter would say.

In any case, it really doesn't sound like you are looking for opinions here. It sounds like you are really looking for people to validate your specific opinions. I think you are going to ask her regarless of what people here think and regardless of others feelings.

but its my aunt not blood related. being blood related will absolutely be sick. she is my aunt by marriage and only half aunt.

ok I am going to assume that this is all false but I am just going to throw this in here...
I am not blood related to my uncle, he is only 8 years older than me, but he's like a brother to me. So it doesn't matter that "we're not blood related" he is still like a brother to me and the thought of it would make me ill.
