I want my money back!

I was surprised to see the items last night also, but I was very happy. I live close enough to WDW to go every day if I wanted to, but there are a lot of people who don't so I am happy they get a chance to have something they normally would get to have. The folks at WDW must be a lot more lenient than at DL. One employee gave my daughter a card without a purchase. I think they realize VMK is for the kids. While we were there, DH and I did make a purchase of a box of cookies and we got a card for our purchase. I look at it like this, since we did get something for the money we spent, even though they were overpriced shortbreads, we still got something and the VMK card was just an added bonus.

We are also not able to get the Stitch hat. We live so close there isn't any reason to book a trip with WDW so we may never get the hat, but I'm not too concerned about it. Our being close makes up for the virtual hat.

Well the way yavn said it means they might or might not not No is it right to assume he means no if you don't have any facts?

I know this is about the Penny presses but isnt anyone excited about the red turnstile??? That is why I did the quest a few times... for the turnstile....
Oooh! Pick me!

Turnstiles are way cooler. I'm so over the green ones.

Penny presses don't do much to excite me anymore. Enough chocolate, I'm going on a diet... :rotfl2:

I haven't been able to get to the parks since I've started playing... I went right beforehand. We live too far away, and can't afford yearly trips. I loooooooooooove when they release stuff like this. It gives me a chance, too.

He did confirm it on another board but read what he said. "Don't hold your breath" means it's not happening. if you do hold it, hoping it will happen, you'll end up dead. That's what the phrase means :thumbsup2

Makes you wonder why VMK doesnt have MILLIONS of players? I think some people are turned off by all the whining.
Seen way more people turned off by the greed and selfishness - the whining also seems to come as a bi-product of that as well.

Yeah for sure. However I wish people would stop putting collectors and rare lovers in with greedy selfish people. They are not the same.

The whole "you got it first" thing doesn't work out well. VMK never said "book your trip to DLR and get the Stitch Set first before it's released in the game for all". I noticed you keep using this analogy but in actually it's invalid, a good idea but not a fact of VMK. Sorry but you just can't start making up things to help get your point across ;)

About DVD and VCR,. true but these things were never intended to be considered exclusive, rare or limited. You're comparing apples to oranges when you try to compare the two.

Instead a better analogy would be using other limited editions from other games such as Habbo and SIMS and I can tell you I play both. Both games have some AMAZING rares so limited very few have but everyone wants. And Sulake or Maxis/EA would NEVER release them again ever! There is no questioning it or cry babying it. It's very straightforward. Something pulled off the shelf or sold for Christmas 2005, it's gone and that's all there is. You want it? Trade or hit up eBay. No whining to the staff about fairness. Nothing comes back and yet these games have MILLIONS of players.

But these games are played by more mature folk whereas the VMK babies like to whine about fairness and how they want everything ever made on VMK and they wanted it last week. Makes you wonder why VMK doesnt have MILLIONS of players? I think some people are turned off by all the whining.

This seems to me to be a little harsh. For one thing, if you will look at VMK it tells you this free game is for ages 8-14. Sure, "mature" players can and do play this game and more power to them, I am one of them. However, the game is still for the kids. Not everything worthwhile in life has to be about getting ahead or getting something no one else has. Afterall, this is still just a game. Games are supposed to be fun, not a race to see who can get the rarest stuff. If someone wants to play for the rarest of the rare, fine, but don't get upset with those who want things to be fair for everyone. You are more than welcome to play the games for the more "mature" players. Leave VMK for the kids and those who are there to have fun. Personally, I think people are turned off by those who are rude, dishonest, and just out for themselves. There is nothing wrong in life with playing nice and being fair. To me, a sign of being mature is realizing there are other people in this world and we need to be kind and respectful to them.

Okay, so when the Graveyard Tree, Madam Leota set and Purple Mansion Rocker became buyable along with the Fantasyland Retro Pin, Safari Rug, and Hippo Rug...I was upset, but it didn't bug me too much. After all, the Mansion Quest was from a tour and the others were a prize pack that replaced the tour. Things that were eventually going to go away. But it still irked me a little. Especially since the Fantasyland Retro Pin and Leota were not sellable.

But the release of the Red Press through tonight's quest really got to me. Okay, so you pay money to get into a park...not directly tied to VMK quests. So if, say, the purple aladdin chair got a limited release like this...no biggie.

But the Red Press isn't a regular quest...it's a get-with-purchase card. Not only that, but (at DLR) you have to walk all the way to the Pooh Corner to get it. AND it has to be prepackaged candy. O_o Do you know how many gummy mickeys I've bought over the past few months just for these presses?

Ever wonder why nobody bothers to buy the shirts at the Star Trader shop in the park? Because the Mickey T-Shirt card you get for it is buyable! Who wants to pay real money for a virtual item that you can get for free in the game anyway?

Sometimes I'm left scratching my head at some of VMK's decisions. Why not the purple ones? Or blue?

ARG! I demand my candy money back!!! [-storms off to find Yavn-] :furious:

First, I don't know what you're talking about with the candy needing to be "prepackaged" because everytime I go to Disneyland I always get the caramel bar (that's handmade) at the Winnie the Pooh store. And everytime they give me cards for it. In fact, they often give me multiple cards. For one purchase. I have red penny press cards up the wazoo and pretty much figured they'd become worthless a while back because of the simplicity in getting them.

I think I was actually a little more irritated that the picture on the cards is a purple one and it gives you a red. I swear, someone on staff must be colorblind because purple seems to always equal red.

Except for in Haunted Mansion when purple=pink :p

For those who argue about collectability and rare...I've got 6 words for you:

Be the envy of the kingdom!

If they didn't want collectability and rarity to be major factors of the game, that should not be their tagline.

I would also like to point out that some time ago, a player complained to a staff member about long lines and dc etc. Her response was it was to teach patience. Life lessons in VMK, huh? So does this mean that we can whine and cry about hard to get stuff that's too expensive or in limited runs so much so that the system will give in to us?

And for those argue about ease of getting those cards...well then you people are lucky and don't get the mean old ladies I get who won't let me buy snickerdoodles to get the cards. And I personally hate prepackaged candies.

Oh and this was supposed to be a light-hearted rant...hence my final line of going after Yavn. When I catch up to him, he's going to pay for my 12 step diet plan because I got fat off gummy mickies and didn't need to. :furious:

LOL Dragon! Get Yavn! Hahaha. Yes, I know it was meant to be somewhat lighthearted, but I guess this thread hit a nerve in some people. Personally, I'm not much into the "stuff" of vmk, but that's just me. Most of what I have that's park only, I've gotten from friends (love my friends) the rest I traded for. I see your point, but I'd rather be able to get some park only items from the game than have to actually spend REAL cash trying to get to Cali or Fl! LOL Although, I am going to WDW this December....haha. Yeah, if the red penny press is still available, I hope to gather a few for my quest prizes.
Keep it light, people! It's a game, after all. :)

LOL...A little tip...Give all the candy away instead of eating it! :teeth:

Haha!! This made me laugh, because i'm always the one who gets the mean old ladies (the sticklers for the rules). I never get the Cm's who will let it slide. :teeth:

The bottom line is the more rare items you have the more you will be against it, the less rare items you have the more you will be for it. (it being the re-release of rare items)

The poll even reflects it exactly that way.

Wasn't arguing with you, just pointing out that I've gotten a bazillion of them and figured they'd become rather worthless even before the quest. I've tried trading them and no one has wanted them, so I figured that signified something.

Also, Snickerdoodles aren't candy, so that may be why they've said no. I know for a fact that they'll accept the Caramel Bars from the glass case because I go there every single time I'm at DL and I go there quite frequently. And have even ended up with cranky CMs. They'll also count the fudge. I've never tried baked goods though.

Personally, I'm not offended by red penny presses being released. I have paid at least $1.38 for each of mine and my son's. Only once did I ever get 2 cards for one purchase, that was when Fly was with me. Now if it were the wanted posters, that would make me feel differently since most of mine I paid at least $16.95 for the picture. The t-shirt, I agree with, never bought a shirt there for the card since that shirt is available in vmk.

well i live right next to disneyland so i am too , confused about this , little odd that they released the red penny i have about 60 red panny presses newaz so it does not matter much to me.

^^

Visit my penny press world sometime :D , it will show you why im over hyper non stop :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
