This is going to be a problem. I'm on day two of becoming a DVC member and I've already exhausted my 200 points from my direct contract (and borrowed 64 from next year) and have purchased a 75 point resale contract. TWO DAYS!

There are only two of us but we do go to Disney 4 or 5 times a year. I feel like I won't be satisfied until I have like 500 points! Is there a 12 step program for this??

I'm at 200 at VGF and waiting for ROFR at Poly for 75 and I'm looking at my 2023 trip and realize I don't have enough points! I think 350 will eventually be my sweet spot. I may ad don 25 more to VGF but I want to wait for the new Poly tower for anything after that.

My husband and I argued (well not really, just disagreed) about how many points to purchase initially. He wanted more than I did and we compromised by meeting in the middle. Then 3 months later added more. Then a year later added more. Then a year later added more ........

I think you see where I'm going with this. We just bought 3 more resale contracts and we both couldn't be happier. Come join us "addicts" on the ROFR thread if you haven't already. We are a fun bunch of enablers. You will fit right it!

Once you start actually staying in DVC rooms and realizing you can come back so often your trips just change. For the better - so much for the better. And you want more points. And then you want even more .

Our resale contract is at the same resort and with the same UY. The pricing was just too good for us to pass up.
Depending on how VDH shakes out, we'll either purchase direct there or start stalking VGC resale more seriously.
I'm trying to convince my husband there's a method to my madness.

Yes, bay area. Our first DVC stay will actually be in Aulani, and we're planning a larger WDW trip with extended family.

For the next 40 years! The perception of a free room makes all the difference in the world.
I’ll end up going like 4 or 5 times a year. Even by myself when my daughter is with her dad for the weekend!

So I am thinking it's like in Vegas. Once you triple your original amount, you pull out. Ha! I am thinking whatever you can truly afford has to be it though.

Affordability seems to be just wishful thinking at this point.

Post-refurb, SSR arguably has the #3 best rooms on property right now. OKW has, by far, the largest.

Hmmm...12 steps. I feel your pain. We are at 10 contracts currently and closing soon on a non DVC contract. The new Poly will make it 12 LOL!
