I want a tattoo

Don't do it!! Its just a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

I have 4 permanent reminders and don't regret any of them. I have had my longest for 12 years and my newest for 4. I am getting another one next month. I did get them only in places that are visible when I want them to be visible.

I'm ok with being a tramp... I love my "tramp stamps" :teeth:

I really love my tattoo and do not regret getting it one bit! :cloud9: I want another one, but I need time draw/sketch what I want and where I want it. I love art on the body!! :thumbsup2

Here's my "Tramp Stamp". It's on my lower back. The little blue butterfly is in memory of the son I lost in 2003, and his name is under the flower. Much more then a "permanent" reminder of "temporary" feeling.

Ahhh, that is simply lovely. What a beautiful way to memorialize your son. I know loads of people with tattoos, and not one has said that they regret it.

Thanks Elaine,

I really like the little one with pooh sitting and have dropped off a copy to the artist (he has done dh, ds and a close friend) so I have every confidence in him.

I say go for it!!!!!

I like these two Pooh's...but it has to be something you like and talk to your tattoo artist about the size etc. I shocked all my friends and family and recently got 3 tattoos...all Disney related. They have all told me that I was the last person on earth they thought would get a tattoo!!!! My latest tattoo is Dory from Finding Nemo (it has special meaning to me). It is on my back between my shoulders...it was so funny last week at the grocery store I had a tank top on and a little boy said to his Mom that I had Dory on my back and he asked if he could see it. She asked if I minded and I said I didn't. He told me it was a cool tattoo!!!!! I just found it funny to hear a five year old tell you that you had a cool tattoo!!!!

I don't think that having a tattoo changes who you are. I am still the same person even though I have permanent artwork on my body. I am a professional and I didn't become a "bad girl" because I now have tattoos. My tattoos all have special meaning to me and I don't care what people think of my tattoos...I got them for me. I also waited 10 years to get my tattoos and I'm so glad that I found the right tattoo artist and shop that was able to re-create my designs exactly how I wanted them.

I had back surgery in 1997 and I get those horrible scars. I would like to tatoo over my lower back scar. Does anyone know if it is more painful to go over a scar?

On an episode of Miami Ink there was a girl who was a cutter when she was younger and had a Tatoo put over the scars on her hip/side. I don't know about the pain, but you could kinda still see the scars. I think you could see them because you knew they were there, maybe it would not be as obvious if they had not shown the before and afters so close together? They were pretty small probably less the an inch maybe even a half inch and looked like little silvery lines in the Tatoo.

I get my tattoo at 4pm today... I will take a pic when I can to show you all. Thanks for all the support and for those sharing their tats... I love them (and I am about the farthest from a 'tramp' lol).

Have fun!!

Take your camera with you and have your tattoo artist take a picture once he/she is finished.

I know several people who would make them disappear if they could.

I also know one man who named his daughter after an ex-girlfriend. Why? He had her name tatooed on his arm.

For the people here who've had laser removal, would you share how much it costs/how long it took to go away/is it gone completely???

Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but I am soooo ready to get rid of these things. :goodvibes

I'm having 2 removed, both about the size of half dollars. I pay $350 a visit, and have had 3 treatments so far. One I think only needs one more treatment, but the other will take more. Blues/greens are the hardest colors to remove. PM me if you want more info.

I didn't back out (as someone had suggested)!!! It wasn't that bad. Took about 20 minutes or so (it is small), but I was there more than an hour. Very relaxing and enjoyed listening to the tat artist with other people before starting. He has dh tat in his portfolio, made me feel good :goodvibes

As soon as I can, I'll get a pic and post it. Thanks for those that offered support :teeth:

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Can't wait to see it!!!
