Day 5 Continued: Saturday October 26th
When I left off, we had come to a fork in the road, so to speak. The line for Sorcerer Mickey had grown atrociously long in the time we had left to go search for something else to do, none of the shows we wanted to see were starting anytime soon, and we were just standing in the middle of the animation building trying to figure out where to go next.
Then, we noticed the brand new (ish) meet & greet area for Minnie right there beside us, with only one family in line for the start of her meets at around 10 am. Originally when I'd heard about this new meet & greet opening, I wasn't all that worried about checking it out. I figured we'd see Minnie somewhere else during the week, maybe Pete's Silly Sideshow or something. But this was new, there was no line, and we were right there, so why not?
The queue is simple, just some chains winding back and forth, but there are some cute movie posters on the walls to check out while you wait.

While we were waiting, we saw Sorcerer Mickey pass by on the way to greet his first guests of the morning!
After a wait of just a few short minutes, we were led into Minnie's ADORABLE dressing room to meet her! As we walked in, I was suddenly really excited we had decided to meet her here (I think this ended up being our only encounter with Minnie for the week, anyway!). Everything is so perfectly Minnie in there! There are sparkles everywhere, including her dress, and everything is just so girly and fancy.
As we were walking in and I was videotaping, the mom in the family behind me started asking about DS's autograph book. That thing really got a lot of attention! Thanks to all the lovely DISboarders who made it possible with their design talent & willingness to share, because I certainly couldn't have made it all on my own!

I should have been keeping a tally of all the high 5's this kid got from the characters!
We spent a few more minutes letting DS run around the animation building, and as a result, he found this movie poster for Planes, which got him very excited! This was the first movie he ever saw in theaters, and he just loves Dusty Crophopper and the gang!
After leaving Minnie's dressing room, we decided that while we were on a character hunt we might as well go over and meet Mike & Sulley. Their meet area had been overtaken by Monsters U, which was fun for DH and I to check out since we had seen the movie and loved it. We had ended up not taking DS with us to see it in theaters because we didn't think he'd sit through it. But he did get the movie on Blu Ray from Santa this year, so he has since seen it and enjoyed it.

We were next in line when Mike & Sulley had to go in for a break. It was actually pretty funny, because Sulley was grabbing the wall and shaking his head vigorously that he didn't want to leave. The PP photographer kept telling him that he needed to go, and eventually he accepted defeat. He dropped his head and walked off slowly, dragging his huge hands behind him. It was hilarious! He got a collective "Awwww!" from the crowd as he made his way off.
While we waited, DH got a picture of the backdrop unobstructed.
Soon enough, they were coming back out!
DS had been asking and asking if it was his turn yet, so when they came back out and I told him it was finally his turn, he went running out to see them. First he came to Mike, who gets an awkward side hug because he is really REALLY awkward to hug!
