The addiction is expensive and all consuming

. We thought we'd try a cruise and do a Disney Wonder 3 day this coming December. This thought struck us when we watched the Travel Channel
Disney Cruise Line documentary. We never had an urge to cruise but heck, it looked fun. So, I found these boards, got a lot of great information, booked a 3 day just after Xmas last year for this coming Dec 16. Heck, we figured if we didn't like it, it's only 3 days - we'll just plan on having a good time at the parks when we got off.
Well, out of the blue, we found ourselves sailing on
RCCL Voyager of the Seas this summer up to Canada. The addiction began and I realized no way is 3 days going to be enough. And, my 25 year old son who joined us on the Voyager cruise became addicted as well so we decided we needed to hunt around for another cruise during the Xmas holidays - in addition to the already booked Wonder. I initially found a 4 day Sovereign of the Seas sailing out of Port Canaveral the very next day we arrive back from the Wonder. Would have liked to have taken a longer cruise but couldn't get a seat on a flight back later on the 25th - could only get one out on the morning of the 25th. Lo and behold, seats opened up, I can now do a 5 day cruise so switched my booking to a 5 day Carnival Inspiration Western Carribean out of Tampa for just a few dollars more. Now we are stoked.
But, I've also put deposits down on a 4 day RCCL Monarch out of LA this February, an Alaskan Cruise on the Sapphire Princess next June, and then the Disney Magic Western next Dec 17. Did I mention I turn 50 the following February so where else to celebrate but a cruise? As soon as this year's Xmas cruises are over, I'll be looking for a Feb 2006 cruise for the big celebration.
We already did take resort vacations regularly, I've now switched to cruising and honestly, I've found if you book early enough, you can get a decent rate - it's actually cheaper than the resort vacations we had been taking.
The moral to the story - once you take one there is no turning back...
