I need you to talk me out of wanting to go to WDW 2 days early!

ok, I know.. I am approaching the wrong crowd!!!! LOL!!!

We are going to WDW on Nov 23rd for 2 weeks! staying YC concierge. I have this idea to go 2 days earlier and stay at POR (mansions) or POFQ. I really want to try a mod, and ofcourse I want to go for 2 extra days!

please tell me I'm nuts! I think dh will flip if I bring it up!

but..... we did just cancel our January trip, so we dont plan on another trip til May...... so maybe...... ok, talk me out of it!!!! :)

thanks ;)

Laura :)

:crazy: You are crazy!

Not for going 2 days early, but for asking us to talk you out of it!

GO!

Well if you're gonna go to a mod then you should do this before staying concierge and if your Jan trip has been cancelled then even more reason to add 2 days on to your November trip it'll be nice to get you in the mood before the rest of your vacation starts :)

Does this all help with reasons to give DH :):):)

ROFL..........You actually want US to talk you out of it??? I just added to our own stay myself..LOL......We are sooo predictable..........Look at it this way.......Your only expense is the room..You will allready be going.No travel expense.....Life is short and unpredictable........You are booking in value season and can see more stuff during these 2 days allowing you more time to luxuriate in your digs at concsierge when you do check in there...........I say go for it...have fun.:D

well I see that worked! LOL!!! you guys actually made me want to extend even more than I did before! :)

It's true we did cancel a nine night stay in January.

Lou-Ann, you make very valid points! all of which are the very reasons we go away so often in the first place! we do it while we can, cause ya never know.... the only other cost other than the room is the Air change fee! that will be $200.

we have AP's so no extra cost there either.
I gotta see what dh says, it was his idea to extend January... even though we ended up cancelling!

oh gee... thanks for talking me out of it.... LOL!!!!!!

Laura :D

We were FORCED to leave two days earlier than planned, when NW kept cancelling our flights (three times!). But I guess we too can force ourselves to do it!

Have a great time princess angel!

I say DO IT! ;) But only if you can switch your flights without too much hassle. We extended our trip last year and the airline charged us a $50 or $75 change fee per ticket..... but then the airfare price dropped, so we got a voucher for the difference and applied it to the change fee! :) Ended up not costing us anything. ;)

I'm the wrong person to ask though. We just got back last week and we're in the process of planning another trip in January! :) And April :) And November! :)

Okay, okay, I'll TRY to be the voice of reason here!

Reasons not to add two extra days:
* $200 airfare change
* at least $200 for 2 nites at a mod
* $150-$200 extra for food
* Lost pay for two days of work each if you don't have any extra paid vacation time
* Christmas is only weeks behind your stay, and a major expense in and of itself.
* This is already a two week trip, so you might want to add the two extra days to a shorter trip like in May or July.

Does that help any?:teeth:
However, you could tell DH how totally disappointed you are not being able to run the WDW marathon, and staying two extra days is like a consolation prize! Hey, I only said I'd TRY to be the voice of reason here! :)

Have a great trip whatever you decide!:)

well, it looks like maybe..... dh is going to talk to his boss tomorrow about taking the 2 extra days ... and then we'll know! so I have POR on hold til tomorrow...

I'll let you know tomorrow what the verdict is!!! :)

oh yeah, and btw... thanks a whole bunch for talking me out of extending... LOL!!! :) ;) :D

Laura :)
