I tried surprising my parents but it didn't work out

I booked a concierge level honeymoon suite at wilderness Lodge to surprise them for their 40th wedding anniversary. I booked it in their name but I used my home address and email address. They still received a welcome brochure to their home address. The welcome packet did not mention the honeymoon suite but it did mention club level so they still have a little bit of a surprise. I just wanted to mention this in case anyone was planning on Booking a surprise trip.

We loved the location of our Honeymoon room at WL. It wasn't much larger than a regular room, just laid out differently. Our view was mostly roof top, but we could see Space Mnt and the Wishes!!! It was very close to the lounge and tucked away in a corner so it felt very private.

Ack, sorry to hear. Same thing happened to us last year. I sent an email to customer service, as we were advised that the surprise would be "no problem" and "we won't mail anything to them". I should have known better Anyway, a rep called me back and said the only way to book a surprise trip is via a travel agent. Who knows if that is accurate tho!

If your TA knows its a surprise it will work just fine. All paperwork is mailed directly to the TA when one is used. It is then the TAs responsibility to get it to whom it belongs too.

Oh, I am sorry that the surprise didn't work out, but now they have the joy of anticipating the trip, and that is half the fun!

I just thought I would add, I read here on the DIS that websites like Orbitz are considered travel agents so your room requests etc have to go through them. However, I booked via a site and just got mickey mail - direct, not forwarded. Which is great for me, bad for surprises!
