I traded my stroller for a wheelchair...A mom & daughter trip to WDW

I know exactly what you mean. I think everyone needs to take a Dis break every once and a while to clear their heads. I hate the Disney depression!

Glad you're checking in, Kristen! I understand about the Disney Depression--I experienced it when we came home from our trip last May. I wasn't sure when we'd be returning to WDW--it was awful! (((HUGS))) Don't worry--I'm here for the longhaul!! Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes

Thanks for understanding guys, somehow I knew you would!! ;) I've been planning trips since our 1st family one in 2007 and this is my first year without one in works, it stinks!!:sad2: and thanks for sticking around!!!!!

Glad you're back. I almost envy your ability to restrain from the boards as I keep telling myself to stay away but keep coming back!:goodvibes

I know exactly what you mean about Disney depression, and really being on here reading about everyone else's trip can sometimes make that better, but it can also make it alot worse!

I don't know when I'll get back again after my trip with Mom in May. Don is adament that we are DONE. In fact tonight he said he wouldn't mind if we never went again :scared1: Maybe I should get a job so that I can pay my own way and he can't say anything about it.......

I have some serious Disney depression right now. I have no future trips planned and at this time last year, I was at WDW!!!! So, I'm kind of reliving my trip from last year on facebook this week. Each day, I change my profile pic to a pic from last year. For example....on Jan 28th, 2009 we had an early ADR at Crystal Palace and got to walk down an empty Main Street. I got beautiful pics of the castle, so my profile pic today is one of them. It's so pretty!

Take care of yourself and enjoy all of the other things life has to offer. We'll be ready to read whenever you are ready to write.

I agree - sometimes reading trip reports gets me in a great mood :goodvibes, and sometimes they make me really sad that I can't just be there right that minute. :sad2:

It's a mixed-up world I live in! :crazy2:

I understand...we do have a trip planned for 2010 (though not solid yet, but there WILL be a trip)....but it's not for a looooong time. I'm itchin' for a Spring trip, but it would be silly. We need to pour extra money into the house so it will sell.

Responsibilities. Hmpf!

Sometimes reading TRs and PTRs is wonderful, and helps me wait, other times it just makes it harder.

Looking forward to when you are able to write...until then, see ya on FB! :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

I miss you all!!:goodvibes Thank you so much for checking in on me, I have the BEST DIS friends, ever!!!!

I'm so very sorry that I've gone MIA (again!), life has been very hectic here, I'm working more and finding it hard to keep up with DIS!:headache:No excuse, I know, and I am trying to be better, catching up on all of your reports first before getting back to mine. And if I'm completely honest, I'm having Disney depression...I went weeks without even logging on here, with no trip in mind, it makes me sad! Anyone else feel like that?:confused3 I am hoping in the next few days to get on here and get this party started again, no promises, but I will do my best. I hope you will stick with me!!

I hope that you're all well and I look forward to telling you my story again soon!!!! Take care!:flower3:

No worries! I've gone through Disney Depression myself after trips when no trip is in sight. It's a bummer and it's hard to be on the DIS sometimes. I know for me that this year we are trying to focus on other things so it's hard. Being a grownup is for the birds! :rotfl2:

We all totally understand the Disney blues. I was just looking through my past receipts from other trips and I was getting all sad;) I actually start getting sad a few weeks before my trip is here because I know it will be over soon. And DH said no trips next year so what am I going to do???:scared1:

Since you read my TR and commented- you know that I am in the same position as you. We have been planning to go on Spring Break- and then not- and then back on- and now were not. Sometimes, I get sad to because I don't have any exciting disney trip news and don't know when I'm going back and I don't log on for a while. I figure giving myself a little break get rid of the depression and then when I come back- I feel overwhelmed with all the disney magic.. and it usually makes me happy once I return. I guess I'm glad that my TR has taken so long to finish- cause I can absorb in that disney memory for a little bit. I don't think I'm going to make it to Jan. 2011. I must go before!!

I miss it too Kristen! I have been planning our next trip for May- June 2011. We will celebrate Gabriel's first birthday!!!

Hey guys!!!:flower3:

I may be out of my Disney depression! Why you wonder?! Because we have (tenatively!!) booked a trip for October!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: Todd & I will be married 10 years the end of September and have always talked about doing a 10 year anniversary trip to an island, my parents will watch the boys but we were talking the other day and decided that it was more important to go back to Disney with the kids and enjoy this time while they are still young. And we'll just try and do a long weekend on Nantucket sometime this Summer or Fall for our anniversary.:lovestruc

I called Disney today and priced a few different options but we've decided on this following.....

When? October 9-16

Where? Port Orleans Riverside (Todd and I acutally honeymooned there when it was Dixie Landings, so it's kinda for us, too!)

Who? Our family of 5 PLUS Tracey (my BFF, from PA) and her family, too!!!:woohoo:

I'm just praying for free dining!! THAT will guarantee our trip!! FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!:upsidedow We are also in the process of trying to become debt free, so that will play into this, too. We have the $200 deposit down and can cancel by 8/25, so we've got time, and think we may be able to do this.

Hope you're well.....maybe this will now give me the motivation to finish this TR, hope you're all well and surviving this Winter...we're in the middle of an expected 18 inches here. I don't know about you, I'm SO ready for Spring!!!!:flower3:

That's great news Kristen! I so hope it works out for you!

I'm done, done, done with winter too! Bring on some warmer temps please.

Now, get your groove back on with this TR missy! :thumbsup2

That's wonderful news, Kristen!!! That's how Brent and I spent our 10 year anniversary last year--at WDW with our girls!!!! :thumbsup2 I hope you get your free dining! :goodvibes

Hey, you will be there for our rough week. Sounds fabulous!!!!

Oh Yeah:cool1: We've missed you on the boards. I LOVE October in WDW. Perfect time to go.:thumbsup2

Wow! That is GREAT news! Yahooo! Hopefully it works out for you guys! I've never been in Oct! Can't wait to hear more!

Hooray for another Disney trip!!!! I've always wanted to go to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary (April of 2012), but when I mentioned that to Madison, she burst into tears! She asked why we would want to go on vacation without her. It just broke my heart! By the time that anniversary rolls around, we will most likely have 2 children (if everything goes according to plan), so a trip to WDW sounds good.
