I took down My Christmas Tree today

Oh what beautiful memories I'll always have when I look at the ornaments that we got in the ornament exchange!

As I was carefully wrapping them and storing them away, I was sad and happy at the same time. I enjoy all of my ornaments, from the exchange AND the ones given to me as gifts! Thank you Barb, Dayna, and Ray!! That was extra special of you.

I took down my ornament tree on Tuesday, mostly because Bandit thought that the Eeyore ornament Barb gave me was his special "toy," and I didn't want it chewed up. Kids! Anyway, all the ornaments you all gave me are very special to me, and I will treasure them for a long time.

Ok, I know that I'm a "stickler" for tradition, but our tree MUST stay up until
January 6th (3 Kings Day, Little Christmas, etc.)
It's always so sad taking the tree down (but I have to admit, I LOVE getting my house
back to normal)!

Hi Gerri.

We took down our real tree right after Christmas because it was very, very dry. Still green because we put it up 2 weeks later than normal (normally we put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving)...but still very dry. In fact, it took 2 of us to carry it into the house and Ed picked it up with one hand and carried it out.

Anyhow, I moved my little artificial DISney tree from the family room to the formal living room and placed it in the front window where the real tree stood. Normally we would have all Christmas put away by now, but this year I seem to be holding on....... I have NO idea what to I think today is the day that I take down the DISney tree.

I will cherish ALL of my wonderful ornaments (and gifts) that I received from so many of you. I will forever remember who each one is from. Love and miss you guys a ton.

Well, Kevin has 3 more weeks to go in Iceland. So, our Christmas tree, lights on the house, etc. will ALL stay up!! We will probably be having our Christmas on Saturday, February 2nd!! Then we can dismantle the Christmas stuff on Sunday, the 3rd. THEN, Tuesday the 5th is Jared's 17th birthday!! Kevin is usually ALWAYS away on a trip on Jared's birthday, but because of the extra-long Iceland trip this year and missing Christmas, he will ACTUALLY be here for it this year!! The silver lining, you know??
