Maybe I did something wrong but not having wordpad for me it's a big plus. I have been using ME for a long time now and never had a problem . This time I have the drives split , all the important stuff goes into my drive D , and drive C is only for operating system and the shared programs, this way I won't loose all my pics again.
Did I miss something with XP?

Two of our computers have Windows 98 and the laptop has XP and I love XP. I use Notepad too.

XP really caused some problems with my idiotic computer (it's an HP ). I had to revert back to ME. I don't like ME either. I'd rather have 98.

I don't have problems with windows ME for what I use my computer, but I did have to reformat the drive and lost quite a few things, but it won't happen anymore, now the drive is split in two.

Ewww...I hate ME. I had XP on my desktop but it kept causing some programs of mine to crash! I put 2000 back on my desktop. I just got a new lap top though that has XP and I'm remebering what I didn't like about it...IT TREATS ME LIKE I'M AN IDIOT!!! These little popup bubbles keep popping up telling me different things about this and that and I know it all already. There should be like an option on setup that lets you tell the computer that you're smart and don't need all those little popup bubbles. If I remember correctly they eventually go away over time, but it's still annoying me. I'd prefer XP over ME any day, but I think I would prefer 2000 over either one of them

Actually princess you can turn off all of those annoying xp'ites.

Well apparently the problem did not come from the operating system, after spending an hour on the phone today with DELL and doing several things to my computer, the hard drive is gone, so it may have stared to act up a few days ago and finally went last night , so now I have to wait until I get the other one. I think I will try windows XP one more time.
