Yesterday, our family celebrated the June and July birthdays at our house-you know, to swim in the pool. (It was like 15ºC yesterday.) We weren't all there, but there were 16 of us to eat, with 1 coming in later. We always have a set list for food. It read along this line.
  • Mom-ham
  • Susan-cold veggies
  • Nancy-salad
  • Mary Liz-cake
  • Me-salad, buns, ice cream, chocolate milk

We got things ready, went to do the final prep and someone asked, "Where's the ham?" Turns out my mom had given it to me on one of our many unscheduled end-of-year lesson/concert/trips to the city this week and I'd put it in my fridge (well, actually, I'd had DD do that) and I'd forgotten that I had the ham and was supposed to cook it! :earseek: UGH!!! I HAD put on a package of meatballs for those who don't like ham, so we had those, tossed on some boiled weiners, and were on our way. Good thing they all understand that at the end of the school year, I can't even THINK, I'm so exhausted! Oh, well. Guess what we're having for Father's Day dinner today? :p

I'll make a Wild Guess!

HAM!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Better luck today! But I don't think anybody will be swimming in our parts this weekend! BBBBBRRRRRR!

It was cold yesterday, wasn't it? Brrr.....

At least you're all set for today's meal! :teeth:

What does it say in your tag? Something about your thought process working overboard? ;) :)

Debbie, you forgot to mention the best part. The look on your face when I said "where's the ham". You said "I have the ham?" and I said "That's a great face, I almost believe that you forgot about it". Then the look changed and we realized that you did forget about it.

It was fine though. Both my kids love weiners. The pool was 85 degrees so many of them went in. Not this lady though. I stayed inside with Debbie and drank hot tea.

::yes::

Like I always say "If it's not written down, it's not happening!!"

Have a great week everyone!!:sunny:

It all worked out fine! Debbie's definitely in need of her summer vacation! Since there was plenty for your Father's day meal, we'll be out tonight for leftovers :p The pool was incredibly warm, and since I had to be out there with the kids anyway, I decided it would be warmer to just be IN the water. Little chilly getting out :earseek: We went to PCW yesterday, and it was absolutely the most perfect day for it. No splash park for us this time, though.

Happy Monday everyone!

Mary Liz

That must have been hilarious to see the look on Debbie's face when she realized that she forgot about the ham!

We went to PCW on Saturday and it was freezing! I actually wore my winter coat and although I felt kind of funny at first, boy was I glad I took it!

We took a look at the new ride, Tomb Raider! My kids didn't try it because the line was just too long, and we're season pass holders so we figured we can try another time. It's funny though, I thought that if this ride was at Disney, you wouldn't just have the track but you'd have the whole setting around it! Hard to get the Disney out of you even at PCW!

We sure are!! Don't forget NancyK. My poor ole Dad had four daughters. Lucky for him I was his number one son.

My mother doesn't share our enthusiasm for Disney though. When we get together she goes home as soon as we start talking Disney. She'll be 70 this year and we thought a magical gathering would have been a great way to celebrate.

Can you say "NO" really loud.

That's okay because the four of us are going to the half marathon in January. :hyper:

Okay, let me get this straight! :scratchin So, Debbie, Maryliz, Susan, and Nancy, you're sisters, right? Am I only one who didn't know this???? lol....:)

I remember Nancy! Doesn't she live around Buffalo????? :D

What exactly is the half marathon anyway?

Well - actually I'm from the St. Catharines area. My username is NancyK. There is also a Nancy from Buffalo. And you can imagine my surprise when Mom asked if the ham was done and I opened Debbie's oven . . .
There are a group of people on the WISH board who are planning on doing the half-marathon in Disney in January. It's 13.1 miles and goes through Epcot and then over to Magic Kingdom. There is also a full marathon which goes through all 4 parks. None of us are runners, so we'll probably be walking or a walk/jog combination. In 29 weeks, we'll be recuperating from the race.

Thank you for clearing that up for me, Nancy, and my apologies for confusing you with the Nancy from Buffalo. :o

The half-marathon sounds like it will be an awesome experience! ::yes:: Thirteen miles!!! I'm sure you'll do great, and what a wonderful accomplishment and memory that will be!! :)

Do you have any idea how many people will be taking part?
