This is to notify you that after we met today with The President,
Finance
Minister, House of Representatives and The Central Bank Governor and we
came
to
a conclusion that we have to pay you the sum of Payment $7.5M.
Therefore, send
your account information to us

Thanks,

Dr.Chuba Abia.

I guess I was wrong. Do you think I should send my account info?

No I don't think you should send your info!! If they want to give you money they can come to your house and deliver it! (just kidding lol)

Just who the heck is the Finance MINISTER?

... And Dr. Chuba Abia! :rotfl:

Best of all, the PREZ wants you to have 7.5 million!!!

What, you couldn't use $7.5 mill? :confused3 Send them my way.

Um...you know..there will be someone who falls for this. I don't understand but think sometimes you have to be totally desperate to believe it but who knows.

We have Western Union where I work, several times a week..no kidding..people will try to send money to Nigeria and Russia. There is a statement we have to read about getting information from an email, it may be a scam etc. You would be surprised at the number of people who will look at you and say "Really?" and "yeah, I won/inherited/etc a sum of money and I was just sending the money to have it released". And the people doing it come in all sizes and varieties...hard to believe sometimes.

I'm the Information Systems Coordinator for a financial institution so phishing is on my radar. If you actually take the time to look at any phishing email there is almost always something grammatical that gives it away. Even a perfectly written phishing email has flags you can look for like where links actually take you and what they ask for.

If you get an email that you question from an institution you bank with don't use links or phone numbers in the email. Open a new browser window and sign in using their direct url or call the number on your card or statement. This simple step will stop phishing every time.

Of course there will be someone that falls for it and they will feel it is not their fault....it will be.
