I think we're taking the plunge, but have a question or two!!

My dh and I have been discussing joining since we got back from WDW on 8/23. Now, you would have thought, why didn't they do a tour? Knock me over with a feather, but my dh, who previously hadn't been so keen on all things Disney, brought it up as we waited for our towncar service to arrive!!! He had stopped by the DVC area and given them our phone number, unbeknownst to me! So, they called us, I called my guide and I have sent along my down payment. Now, how long does it usually take to get the rest of my things? Paperwork etc. I guess I should have asked my guide but I was so excited that I forgot. Oh yeah. My dh and I never actually decided together we were going to do this. But, it just sounded so darn wonderful on the phone, well, I just caved!!! Now I wait for my package. How long do I have to wait? Thanks everyone.

The large FedEx box came 8 days after we called and gave our guide our credit card number for the deposit. Labor Day may have caused a delay. The box included the membership information, the papers to sign with the FedEx return envelope, a DVC backpack and a sketch of our home resort, BWV.

Our package came in 7 business days but this was around the Labor Day Holiday. You can get a "jumpstart" and have some things ready if you want to send it in quick. If you want to do direct debit you can have a voided check and your bank routing info ready, you will also need to send in a paycheck stub or last years W2, you will also need to get a form notarized so if you don't know where a notary is close you could call your bank and see if they have a notary available. Just don't beat my 2 hour turnaround record please !

See, not all DH's are DVC stick-in-the-muds - some of get the ball rolling!

goofy4tink, we gave our Guide (Jim McCoy) the down payment info last Saturday, and he said we should get the package in a week. Hoping to get it tomorrow (Friday).

Sorry, Stephanie, our neighbor is a NR and we've got everything photocopied - my DW already has her track shoes on! Not really, we'll have to go to the bank, and I'll make sure we get it turned around no quicker than 2 hours and 1 minute - we'll settle for the Silver Medal in DVC Paperwork Turnaround!
